Source Texts

Hebrew (Old Testament)

The Hebrew text is drawn from the Open Scriptures Hebrew Bible (OSHB), a digitization of the Westminster Leningrad Codex (WLC) — the oldest complete manuscript of the Hebrew Bible in the Masoretic tradition, dated c. 1008 CE. The OSHB provides word-level data including surface forms, lemmas, Strong's numbers, and morphological codes.

Greek (New Testament)

The Greek text is based on the original work by unfoldingWord, the unfoldingWord Greek New Testament (UGNT), which is itself based on the Bunning Heuristic Prototype (BHP) Greek New Testament.

Our changes to the original UGNT data include:

• Extracted word-level data: surface forms, lemmas, Strong's numbers, and morphological codes
• Generated independent English word-by-word translations (not present in the original UGNT)
• Parsed morphological codes into structured grammatical fields

Translation Methodology

Every word in both Testaments has been given an English translation through an AI-assisted process using Perplexity AI (sonar-pro model). Each word is translated individually with full context from:

• Strong's Concordance — for lexical identification
• BDB Lexicon (Hebrew) / BDAG (Greek) — for semantic range
• KJV, ESV, NASB — cross-referenced for translation consensus

Every translation includes an audit trail of sources consulted, ensuring that our renderings can be verified. Where major English translations diverge on a word's meaning, or where a word is rare or debated among scholars, we flag it for human review on our Translation Notes page.

Morphological Analysis

Hebrew

Hebrew words receive a morpheme-level breakdown, segmenting each word into its component parts: prefixes (conjunctions, prepositions, articles), the root/stem, and suffixes (pronominal, directional). Grammatical analysis includes person, gender, number, state (absolute/construct), and verbal binyan (stem pattern).

Greek

Greek words are parsed from the UGNT morphological codes into structured grammatical fields: part of speech, tense, voice, mood, person, gender, number, case, and degree.
