About These Dates

The biblical year begins at the spring equinox. The first month begins at the first new moon on or after the equinox — this year, both fall on the same day, which is rare. Passover and the other feasts are then counted from the first month. Feasts begin at sunset the evening before the date listed, as the biblical day starts at sunset (Genesis 1:5).

“These are the appointed feasts of YHWH, the holy convocations, which you shall proclaim at the time appointed for them.” — Leviticus 23:4
