Exposing the Biggest Myths About Israel: Jews Are Not Israelites

Myth 1: Israel Returned in 1948

The claim that the State of Israel born in 1948 marks the return of Jacob's true descendants is false. Newspapers from 1948 proclaimed "Israel is born" and "the true descendants of Jacob are back," but this contradicts Scripture. Jews are not Israelites—they are Gentiles who adopted the identity and practices of Judah's people after scattering in Babylon and Persia.

Esther 8:17 explains this: "And in every province and in every city, wherever the king's command and his edict reached, there was gladness and joy among the Jews [Yehudim, Judeans]. A feast and a holiday, and many from the peoples of the country declared themselves Judeans [mityahadim], for fear of the Judeans had fallen on them."

The Hebrew mityahadim (root: yahad, related to Yehudi) with prefix mit- means to make oneself Judean—to adopt Judean identity and practices reflexively. This occurred around 473 BC across the Persian Empire. Gentiles claimed Judean identity, but they lacked the covenant with YHWH, the Most High God. No promises or prophecies apply to them.

Yeshua addressed this 500 years later in Revelation 2:9: "I know your tribulation and your poverty, but you are rich, and the slander of those who say that they are Judeans [Ioudaíos] and are not, but are a synagogue of Satan." And Revelation 3:9: "Behold, I will make those of the synagogue of Satan who say that they are Judeans and are not, but lie."

These verses connect: Gentiles from Esther's time formed the basis of Judaism (Ioudaismos in Greek), including synagogues absent from the Old Testament. Judaism stems from non-Israelites, not YHWH.

A true Judean descends from Judah, son of Jacob, or an Israelite from Judah's territory. Converts to Judaism gain no bloodline or covenant—converting does not make one an Israelite.

The True Return of Israel: Scriptural Prophecy

Scripture details Israel's return differently. Ezekiel 20:33-38, 42 (declares YHWH): "'As I live... with a mighty hand and an outstretched arm and with wrath poured out, I will be King over you. I will bring you out from the peoples and gather you out of the countries where you are scattered... And I will bring you into the wilderness of the peoples, and there I will enter into judgment with you face to face... I will make you pass under the rod, and I will bring you into the bond of the covenant... I will purge out the rebels from among you... they shall not enter the land of Israel. Then you will know that I am YHWH.'"

No such events mark Jewish history in 1948. Israel broke the covenant, requiring a New Covenant entry (Jeremiah 31). This comes through Yeshua, who atones for sin via faith. Most Jews reject Yeshua, bypassing repentance and covenant renewal. Sinners cannot enter.

The State of Israel in Prophecy: Gentiles Before the True Return

The modern State fulfills Ezekiel 36:5: "Therefore thus says the Lord YHWH: Surely I have spoken in my hot jealousy against the rest of the nations, and against all Edom, who gave my land to themselves as a possession with wholehearted joy and utter contempt... that they might make its pasture lands a prey."

Jews—Gentiles and Edomites—occupy the land with contempt for Scripture, via settlements, before true Israel returns. Ezekiel 36:8-10: "But you, O mountains of Israel, shall shoot forth your branches and yield your fruit to my people Israel, for they will soon come home... I will multiply people on you, the whole house of Israel... The cities shall be inhabited and the waste places rebuilt."

Cities now inhabited means destruction precedes true return—a war will devastate the State.

Myth 2: Jews Are Israelites

Jews are not Israelites. They are Gentiles/Edomites fulfilling Ezekiel's prophecy, adopting Judah's identity per Esther. Visible at the Wailing Wall under occult symbols—not Israel.

Myth 3: Jews Will Build the Temple

Jews will not build the temple. Christians await a Jewish temple post-red heifer, but Scripture requires Israelite restoration after repentance. Jeremiah 31:1-10 (approx.): Israel remembers among nations, repents wholly to YHWH (verses 1-2), then YHWH gathers (verse 3). Ezekiel 33-35: Gathering to wilderness post-repentance; rebels die, nation enters New Covenant.

Psalm 119:105: "Thy word is a lamp unto my feet, and a light unto my path." YHWH's Word reveals truth—only repentant Israelites build post-restoration.

The confusion persists: Anyone claiming Judean via Judaism isn't Israel. True Israelites await YHWH's mighty hand.
