Introduction

In this teaching, we explore two foundational truths: the nature of sin and the redemptive work accomplished by Yahoshua the Messiah. These are essential for every believer, especially every Israelite, to fully grasp. The sins of Israel under the covenant are forgivable only through Yahoshua. There is no other path to forgiveness[1]. The new covenant exists because Israel broke the first one, and only Yahoshua could repair it and reconcile us to YHWH.

Yahoshua's Mission: For All Humanity

Some claim Yahoshua's work was only for Israel, but Scripture teaches otherwise. His mission addressed sin at its root—the sin entering through Adam, affecting every human (Romans 5:12). Through one man, Adam, sin entered the world; through one man, Yahoshua, salvation came to all.

YHWH Himself declared Yahoshua's scope went beyond Israel: "It is too light a thing that you should be my servant to raise up the tribes of Jacob... I will make you as a light for the nations, that my salvation may reach to the end of the earth" (Isaiah 49:6). Yahoshua brings salvation to the entire world, regardless of nationality. Those teaching exclusive salvation for Israel are deceived by Satan, the same force that corrupted the covenant with Judaism.

Sin is a human problem, not just an Israelite one—the source of all suffering. YHWH chose Israel as the vehicle to bring the Savior, not the exclusive recipients (Revelation 13:8). The Lamb was slain from the foundation of the world, predating Israel.

Atonement from Eternity

Atonement existed before creation. Job records angels shouting for joy at earth's foundation (Job 38:4-7), implying the heavenly realm, including YHWH's throne and mercy seat, was already established (Isaiah 6). The earthly mercy seat was a copy of the heavenly one. Thus, provision for atonement was eternal, for all nations through Yahoshua.

The Nature of Sin

Sin is any thought, action, or attitude against YHWH's willlawlessness (1 John 3:4), rebellion (Isaiah 1:2). It includes commission (doing wrong) and omission (failing right).

Anyone teaching disregard for the law promotes sin—a key deception in modern Christianity.

Origins of Sin

Sin began in Lucifer through pride (Isaiah 14:12-15; Ezekiel 28:12-17). Free will enables it, independent of Satan. In humanity, Adam and Eve's disobedience introduced it (Genesis 3), passing a sinful nature to all (Romans 5:12; Psalm 51:5). Yahoshua, conceived by the Holy Spirit, inherited no sinful nature, qualifying Him as substitute.

Types of Sin

  • Personal sin: Individual violations (Romans 3:23). All must repent or face judgment.
  • Original sin: Inherited nature inclining to disobedience.
  • Corporate sin: National or societal sins, like Israel's covenant breach. Nations oppressing Israel also sinned. These persist across generations until repented (Exodus 20:5). Israelites today bear ancestral consequences and must repent to break the cycle.

Consequences of Sin

  • Separation from YHWH.
  • Death (spiritual/physical).
  • Enslavement to sin.
  • Eternal punishment without repentance.

These realities underscore Yahoshua's necessity.

Yahoshua's Redemptive Work

Yahoshua, the Word made flesh (John 1:14), was fully God and fully man—sinless (Hebrews 4:15), perfectly obedient.

His death on the cross paid sin's penalty:
- Substitutionary atonement: He took our place (Isaiah 53:4-6,12; 2 Corinthians 5:21)[1][2][3].
- Propitiation: Satisfied YHWH's justice, turning away wrath.

For Israelites, it atones for covenant-breaking (death penalty paid). Without accepting it, no restoration.

Yahoshua's sinless life and death fulfilled the unblemished lamb, providing exchange-of-life redemption[3].
