Yeshua Is God: The Greatest Testimony in Hebrews
The Bible is very clear that Yeshua, Jesus, is God. There's no greater testimony than in the Book of Hebrews, especially the first eight verses. Let's dive into Hebrews 1:1-8 and see this truth unfold.[1]
God Speaks Through His Son
Hebrews 1:1-2 (ESV): "Long ago, at many times and in many ways, God [Elohim] spoke to our fathers by the prophets, but in these last days he has spoken to us by his Son, whom he appointed the heir of all things, through whom also he created the world."
This book is written to the Hebrews. God the Father spoke through the prophets, but now through His Son. The Son is the heir of all things and the One through whom He created the world. What does that mean? The Son has been around forever—He's everlasting.[1]
The Exact Imprint of God's Nature
Hebrews 1:3: "He is the radiance of the glory of God and the exact imprint of his nature, and he upholds the universe by the word of his power."
Yeshua is the radiance of the glory of God. He shines forth God's glory. He is the exact imprint of His nature—just like God the Father because He is God. Who upholds the universe by the word of His power? Who is the image of the invisible God? This is Yeshua.[1]
After making purification for sins, He sat down at the right hand of the Majesty on high, having become as much superior to angels as the name he has inherited is more excellent than theirs (Hebrews 1:3-4). Yehoshua, the Savior—YHWH our salvation.
Superior to Angels: Words Never Spoken to Them
Hebrews 1:5: *"For to which of the angels did God ever say, 'You are my Son, today I have begotten you'? Or again, 'I will be to him a father, and he shall be to me a son'?"
God the Father never said this to any angel. Yeshua is the Word, who became the Son. YHWH the Father never spoke these words to angels.[1]
Hebrews 1:6: *"And again, when he brings the firstborn into the world, he says, 'Let all God's angels worship him.'"
At Yeshua's birth, angels celebrated and glorified Him (see Matthew 2 or Luke 2). Angels bow down and worship Him.
Hebrews 1:7 speaks of angels: "He makes his angels winds, and his ministers a flame of fire."
God the Father Calls the Son 'O God'
But of the Son, God the Father says: Hebrews 1:8: "But of the Son he says, 'Your throne, O God, is forever and ever, the scepter of uprightness is the scepter of your kingdom.'"
God the Father calls the Son God—"Your throne, O God"! If you can't believe this, you need your heart transformed by the Holy Spirit. Don't follow false teachers questioning Yeshua as Elohim. The Father Himself calls the Son Elohim.[1]
Yeshua is the exact imprint of the Father's nature. That's why He's called the Everlasting Father (Isaiah 9:6). Yeshua is God. He is Elohim—make no mistake about it.
Shalom. I will talk to you soon.
