Why the Modern State of Israel Cannot Be the Israelites of the Bible - Part 1

The Lie of 1948: Not the Return of Israel

In 1948, the state of Israel was created with the claim that this marked the return of the children of Israel to their promised land. A newspaper, likely the Palestinian Post, announced, "The state of Israel is born." But this claim is a lie. The state of Israel is not the nation of Israelites—it's a nation of Gentiles claiming to be Israelites. The true Israelites remain scattered and were never regathered in 1948.

Jewish history is well documented and serves as one of the best proofs that Jews are not Israelites. Books on "Jewish history" actually teach the history of Gentiles pretending to be Israelites. This is why Jewish history consistently fails to fulfill biblical prophecy for the true children of Israel.

We are the children of Israel? No, you are not. The Hebrew Scriptures reveal the true physical descendants of Israel.

Israel's Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu claims, "We have the Bible which says the land of Israel belongs to the Jewish people." But no, it doesn't. The Bible says the land belongs to the 12 tribes of Israel, not "Jewish people." Jewish people are not part of the 12 tribes—we'll prove that.

Biblical Prophecy: All 12 Tribes Return Securely

Ezekiel prophesies the true regathering:

Now I will restore the fortunes of Jacob and have mercy on the whole house of Israel... They shall forget their shame... when they dwell securely in their land with none to make them afraid... When I have brought them back from the peoples and gathered them from their enemies' lands... I will leave none of them remaining among the nations anymore... I will pour out my spirit upon the house of Israel, declares YHWH. (Ezekiel 39:25-29, adapted)

Jews do not dwell securely. They fear Hamas, missiles with sirens blaring, Iran—constant fear. Not "none to make them afraid."

Jewish statistics break this: ~7.7 million in Israel, nearly half in the US, hundreds of thousands in France, Canada, UK. Not all gathered—no one left among nations? False. They've never all been in the land. Prophecy broken = not descendants of Israel.

Israelite History vs. Jewish History: Not the Same

To understand Jews, first know Israelites—they're not the same.

Origins of Israelites

  • Abraham (~1950 BC): YHWH promised the land to his descendants through Jacob.
  • YHWH to Jacob: "Your name is Israel... A nation and a company of nations shall come from you... The land I gave Abraham and Isaac I give to you and your offspring." (Genesis 35:10-12)

Land for Jacob's physical descendants from his body. Gentiles? Children of Abraham by faith in Yeshua HaMashiach (Galatians 3), but not physical descendants of Jacob.

  • Slavery in Egypt: Israelites (black-skinned, ruddy bronze, woolly hair) enslaved ~15th century BC. Egyptian tomb paintings and figurines from Hecht Museum show Semitic slaves looking African—that's us.
  • Exodus (1446 BC): YHWH delivered them by power. To Mount Sinai (Arabia), received the Law via Moses.

The Covenant: Obey or Be Plucked Off

Covenant at Sinai: Conditional. Blessings for obedience, curses for disobedience (Deuteronomy 28, Leviticus 26).

If you faithfully obey... YHWH will set you high above all nations. (Deuteronomy 28:1)

But curses for sin:

YHWH will... take delight in bringing ruin upon you and destroying you, and you shall be plucked off the land. (Deuteronomy 28:63)

Cannot remain in sin.

  • Entered Land (1406 BC, Joshua): No modern Jews or their ancestors yet.

Division and Exile

Israelites righteous briefly, then wicked.

  • King Solomon (~old age): Married foreign wives, turned from YHWH.

YHWH was angry with Solomon... "I will surely tear the kingdom from you and give it to your servant... one tribe for your son for David and Jerusalem's sake." (1 Kings 11:9-13)

  • 931 BC: Kingdom split—Northern Israel (10 tribes), Judah (2 tribes south).
  • Northern Israel: Idolatry under Jeroboam.
  • 721 BC: Assyrians conquer north. Israelites exiled to Assyria, some to Judah, some to sub-Saharan Africa—"beyond the rivers of Cush" (Zephaniah 3:10). Cush = Sudan/Egypt area; from Judah's view, south into Africa.
