Then fell Joseph on the face of his father and wept over him and kissed him

1 וַ/יִּפֹּ֥ל 𐤅/𐤉𐤐𐤋 vayipol Then fell HC/Vqw3ms יוֹסֵ֖ף 𐤉𐤅𐤎𐤐 yosef Joseph HNp עַל 𐤏𐤋 al on HR פְּנֵ֣י 𐤐𐤍𐤉 peney the face HNcbpc אָבִ֑י/ו 𐤀𐤁𐤉/𐤅 aviv of his father HNcmsc/Sp3ms וַ/יֵּ֥בְךְּ 𐤅/𐤉𐤁𐤊 vayevekhe and wept HC/Vqw3ms עָלָ֖י/ו 𐤏𐤋𐤉/𐤅 alayv over him HR/Sp3ms וַ/יִּשַּׁק 𐤅/𐤉𐤔𐤒 vayishaq and kissed HC/Vqw3ms לֽ/וֹ 𐤋/𐤅 lo him HR/Sp3ms

and commanded Joseph [direct object marker] his servants [direct object marker] the physicians to embalm [direct object marker] his father and embalmed the physicians [direct object marker] Israel

and they fulfilled for him forty days for thus/so are fulfilled days the embalmed and they wept for him Egypt/the Egyptians seventy days

When they had passed the days of weeping for him Joseph spoke Joseph to the house of Pharaoh saying If now I have found favor in your eyes speak now in the ears of Pharaoh saying

4 וַ/יַּֽעַבְרוּ֙ 𐤅/𐤉𐤏𐤁𐤓𐤅 vayaaveru When they had passed HC/Vqw3mp יְמֵ֣י 𐤉𐤌𐤉 yemey the days HNcmpc בְכִית֔/וֹ 𐤁𐤊𐤉𐤕/𐤅 vekhito of weeping for him HNcfsc/Sp3ms וַ/יְדַבֵּ֣ר 𐤅/𐤉𐤃𐤁𐤓 vayedaber Joseph spoke HC/Vpw3ms יוֹסֵ֔ף 𐤉𐤅𐤎𐤐 yosef Joseph HNp אֶל 𐤀𐤋 el to HR בֵּ֥ית 𐤁𐤉𐤕 beyt the house HNcmsc פַּרְעֹ֖ה 𐤐𐤓𐤏𐤄 pareoh of Pharaoh HNp לֵ/אמֹ֑ר 𐤋/𐤀𐤌𐤓 lemor saying HR/Vqc אִם 𐤀𐤌 im If HC נָ֨א 𐤍𐤀 na now HTe מָצָ֤אתִי 𐤌𐤑𐤀𐤕𐤉 matsati I have found HVqp1cs חֵן֙ 𐤇𐤍 chen favor HNcmsa בְּ/עֵ֣ינֵי/כֶ֔ם 𐤁/𐤏𐤉𐤍𐤉/𐤊𐤌 beeyneykhem in your eyes HR/Ncbdc/Sp2mp דַּבְּרוּ 𐤃𐤁𐤓𐤅 daberu speak HVpv2mp נָ֕א 𐤍𐤀 na-2 now HTe בְּ/אָזְנֵ֥י 𐤁/𐤀𐤆𐤍𐤉 beazeney in the ears of HR/Ncfdc פַרְעֹ֖ה 𐤐𐤓𐤏𐤄 fareoh Pharaoh HNp לֵ/אמֹֽר 𐤋/𐤀𐤌𐤓 lemor-2 saying HR/Vqc

my father made me swear saying behold I am dying in my grave which I dug for myself in the land Canaan there bury me and now let me go up please and bury — my father and I will return

5 אָבִ֞/י 𐤀𐤁/𐤉 avi my father HNcmsc/Sp1cs הִשְׁבִּיעַ֣/נִי 𐤄𐤔𐤁𐤉𐤏/𐤍𐤉 hishebiani made me swear HVhp3ms/Sp1cs לֵ/אמֹ֗ר 𐤋/𐤀𐤌𐤓 lemor saying HR/Vqc הִנֵּ֣ה 𐤄𐤍𐤄 hineh behold HTm אָנֹכִי֮ 𐤀𐤍𐤊𐤉 anokhi I HPp1cs מֵת֒ 𐤌𐤕 met am dying HVqrmsa בְּ/קִבְרִ֗/י 𐤁/𐤒𐤁𐤓/𐤉 beqiveri in my grave HR/Ncmsc/Sp1cs אֲשֶׁ֨ר 𐤀𐤔𐤓 asher which HTr כָּרִ֤יתִי 𐤊𐤓𐤉𐤕𐤉 kariti I dug HVqp1cs לִ/י֙ 𐤋/𐤉 li for myself HR/Sp1cs בְּ/אֶ֣רֶץ 𐤁/𐤀𐤓𐤑 beerets in the land HR/Ncbsc כְּנַ֔עַן 𐤊𐤍𐤏𐤍 kenaan Canaan HNp שָׁ֖מָּ/ה 𐤔𐤌/𐤄 shamah there HD/Sd תִּקְבְּרֵ֑/נִי 𐤕𐤒𐤁𐤓/𐤍𐤉 tiqebereni bury me HVqv2ms/Sp1cs וְ/עַתָּ֗ה 𐤅/𐤏𐤕𐤄 veatah and now HC/D אֶֽעֱלֶה 𐤀𐤏𐤋𐤄 eeleh let me go up HVqh1cs נָּ֛א 𐤍𐤀 na please HTj וְ/אֶקְבְּרָ֥ה 𐤅/𐤀𐤒𐤁𐤓𐤄 veeqeberah and bury HC/Vqh1cs אֶת 𐤀𐤕 et — HTo אָבִ֖/י 𐤀𐤁/𐤉 avi-2 my father HNcmsc/Sp1cs וְ/אָשֽׁוּבָה 𐤅/𐤀𐤔𐤅𐤁𐤄 veashuvah and I will return HC/Vqi1cs

And he said Pharaoh Go up and bury - your father as he made you swear

6 וַ/יֹּ֖אמֶר 𐤅/𐤉𐤀𐤌𐤓 vayomer And he said HC/Vqw3ms פַּרְעֹ֑ה 𐤐𐤓𐤏𐤄 pareoh Pharaoh HNp עֲלֵ֛ה 𐤏𐤋𐤄 aleh Go up HVqv2ms וּ/קְבֹ֥ר 𐤅/𐤒𐤁𐤓 uqevor and bury HC/Vqv2ms אֶת 𐤀𐤕 et - HTo אָבִ֖י/ךָ 𐤀𐤁𐤉/𐤊 avikha your father HNcmsc/Sp2ms כַּ/אֲשֶׁ֥ר 𐤊/𐤀𐤔𐤓 kaasher as HR/Tr הִשְׁבִּיעֶֽ/ךָ 𐤄𐤔𐤁𐤉𐤏/𐤊 hishebiekha he made you swear HVhp3ms/Sp2ms

and went up Joseph to bury — his father and went up with him all servants Pharaoh elders his house and all elders land Egypt

and all the house of Joseph and his brothers and the house of his father only their little ones and their flocks and their herds they left in the land of Goshen

8 וְ/כֹל֙ 𐤅/𐤊𐤋 vekhol and all HC/Ncmsc בֵּ֣ית 𐤁𐤉𐤕 beyt the house HNcmsc יוֹסֵ֔ף 𐤉𐤅𐤎𐤐 yosef of Joseph HNp וְ/אֶחָ֖י/ו 𐤅/𐤀𐤇𐤉/𐤅 veechayv and his brothers HC/Ncmpc/Sp3ms וּ/בֵ֣ית 𐤅/𐤁𐤉𐤕 uveyt and the house HC/Ncmsc אָבִ֑י/ו 𐤀𐤁𐤉/𐤅 aviv of his father HNcmsc/Sp3ms רַ֗ק 𐤓𐤒 raq only HTa טַפָּ/ם֙ 𐤈𐤐/𐤌 tapam their little ones HNcmsc/Sp3mp וְ/צֹאנָ֣/ם 𐤅/𐤑𐤀𐤍/𐤌 vetsonam and their flocks HC/Ncbsc/Sp3mp וּ/בְקָרָ֔/ם 𐤅/𐤁𐤒𐤓/𐤌 uveqaram and their herds HC/Ncbsc/Sp3mp עָזְב֖וּ 𐤏𐤆𐤁𐤅 azevu they left HVqp3cp בְּ/אֶ֥רֶץ 𐤁/𐤀𐤓𐤑 beerets in the land HR/Ncbsc גֹּֽשֶׁן 𐤂𐤔𐤍 goshen of Goshen HNp

And there went up with him both chariots and horsemen and it was the company very great

9 וַ/יַּ֣עַל 𐤅/𐤉𐤏𐤋 vayaal And there went up HC/Vqw3ms עִמּ֔/וֹ 𐤏𐤌/𐤅 imo with him HR/Sp3ms גַּם 𐤂𐤌 gam both HTa רֶ֖כֶב 𐤓𐤊𐤁 rekhev chariots HNcmsa גַּם 𐤂𐤌 gam-2 and HTa פָּרָשִׁ֑ים 𐤐𐤓𐤔𐤉𐤌 parashim horsemen HNcmpa וַ/יְהִ֥י 𐤅/𐤉𐤄𐤉 vayehi and it was HC/Vqw3ms הַֽ/מַּחֲנֶ֖ה 𐤄/𐤌𐤇𐤍𐤄 hamachaneh the company HTd/Ncbsa כָּבֵ֥ד 𐤊𐤁𐤃 kaved very HAamsa מְאֹֽד 𐤌𐤀𐤃 meod great HD

And they came to the threshing floor of Atad which beyond the Jordan and they mourned there a mourning great and very and he made for his father mourning seven days

saw the inhabitants of the land the Canaanites (direct object marker) the mourning at the threshing floor of Atad said mourning grievous this to the Egyptians therefore thus called its name Abel Mizraim which beyond the Jordan

And his sons did his sons for him just so as he had commanded them

And Joseph returned Joseph to Egypt he and his brothers and all who had gone up with him to bury his father after he had buried him his father

14 וַ/יָּ֨שָׁב 𐤅/𐤉𐤔𐤁 vayashav And Joseph returned HC/Vqw3ms יוֹסֵ֤ף 𐤉𐤅𐤎𐤐 yosef Joseph HNp מִצְרַ֨יְמָ/ה֙ 𐤌𐤑𐤓𐤉𐤌/𐤄 mitserayemah to Egypt HNp/Sd ה֣וּא 𐤄𐤅𐤀 hu he HPp3ms וְ/אֶחָ֔י/ו 𐤅/𐤀𐤇𐤉/𐤅 veechayv and his brothers HC/Ncmpc/Sp3ms וְ/כָל 𐤅/𐤊𐤋 vekhal and all HC/Ncmsc הָ/עֹלִ֥ים 𐤄/𐤏𐤋𐤉𐤌 haolim who had gone up HTd/Vqrmpa אִתּ֖/וֹ 𐤀𐤕/𐤅 ito with him HR/Sp3ms לִ/קְבֹּ֣ר 𐤋/𐤒𐤁𐤓 liqebor to bury HR/Vqc אֶת 𐤀𐤕 et HTo אָבִ֑י/ו 𐤀𐤁𐤉/𐤅 aviv his father HNcmsc/Sp3ms אַחֲרֵ֖י 𐤀𐤇𐤓𐤉 acharey after HR קָבְר֥/וֹ 𐤒𐤁𐤓/𐤅 qavero he had buried him HVqc/Sp3ms אֶת 𐤀𐤕 et-2 HTo אָבִֽי/ו 𐤀𐤁𐤉/𐤅 aviv-2 his father HNcmsc/Sp3ms

And they saw the brothers of Joseph that had died their father and they said perhaps he will hate us Joseph and fully he will repay to us - all the evil that we did to him

And said Joseph to his brothers I am about to die but God will surely visit you and will bring up you out of the land this to the land which he swore to Abraham to Isaac and to Jacob

So Joseph died Joseph being a hundred and ten years old and they embalmed him and he was put in a coffin in Egypt
