and again the anger of YHWH to burn against Israel and he incited [direct object marker] David against them saying Go number [direct object marker] Israel and Judah

and said the king to Joab commander of the army who were with him go now please through all tribes of Israel from Dan even to Beersheba and number the people that I may know the number of the people

2 וַ/יֹּ֨אמֶר 𐤅/𐤉𐤀𐤌𐤓 vayomer and said HC/Vqw3ms הַ/מֶּ֜לֶךְ 𐤄/𐤌𐤋𐤊 hamelekhe the king HTd/Ncmsa אֶל 𐤀𐤋 el to HR יוֹאָ֣ב 𐤉𐤅𐤀𐤁 yoav Joab HNp שַׂר 𐤔𐤓 sar commander HNcmsc הַ/חַ֣יִל 𐤄/𐤇𐤉𐤋 hachayil of the army HTd/Ncmsa אֲשֶׁר 𐤀𐤔𐤓 asher who HTr אִתּ֗/וֹ 𐤀𐤕/𐤅 ito were with him HR/Sp3ms שֽׁוּט 𐤔𐤅𐤈 shut go now HVqv2ms נָ֞א 𐤍𐤀 na please HTe בְּ/כָל 𐤁/𐤊𐤋 bekhal through all HR/Ncmsc שִׁבְטֵ֤י 𐤔𐤁𐤈𐤉 shivetey tribes HNcmpc יִשְׂרָאֵל֙ 𐤉𐤔𐤓𐤀𐤋 yiserael of Israel HNp מִ/דָּן֙ 𐤌/𐤃𐤍 midan from Dan HR/Np וְ/עַד 𐤅/𐤏𐤃 vead even to HC/R בְּאֵ֣ר 𐤁𐤀𐤓 beer Beersheba HNp שֶׁ֔בַע 𐤔𐤁𐤏 sheva HAcfsa וּ/פִקְד֖וּ 𐤅/𐤐𐤒𐤃𐤅 ufiqedu and number HC/Vqv2mp אֶת 𐤀𐤕 et the HTo הָ/עָ֑ם 𐤄/𐤏𐤌 haam people HTd/Ncmsa וְ/יָ֣דַעְתִּ֔י 𐤅/𐤉𐤃𐤏𐤕𐤉 veyadaeti that I may know HC/Vqq1cs אֵ֖ת 𐤀𐤕 et-2 the HTo מִסְפַּ֥ר 𐤌𐤎𐤐𐤓 misepar number HNcmsc הָ/עָֽם 𐤄/𐤏𐤌 haam-2 of the people HTd/Ncmsa

And he said Joab to the king may add YHWH your God to the people as they are and as they are a hundred times and the eyes of my lord the king see it But my lord the king why does desire in this thing this

overruled word of the king against Joab and commanders of the army went out Joab and the commanders of the army from the presence of the king to number the people Israel

and they crossed the Jordan and they camped in Aroer right side of the city that in the middle of the valley of Gad and toward Jazer

5 וַ/יַּעַבְר֖וּ 𐤅/𐤉𐤏𐤁𐤓𐤅 vayaaveru and they crossed HC/Vqw3mp אֶת 𐤀𐤕 et the HTo הַ/יַּרְדֵּ֑ן 𐤄/𐤉𐤓𐤃𐤍 hayareden Jordan HTd/Np וַ/יַּחֲנ֣וּ 𐤅/𐤉𐤇𐤍𐤅 vayachanu and they camped HC/Vqw3mp בַ/עֲרוֹעֵ֗ר 𐤁/𐤏𐤓𐤅𐤏𐤓 vaaroer in Aroer HR/Np יְמִ֥ין 𐤉𐤌𐤉𐤍 yemin right side HNcfsc הָ/עִ֛יר 𐤄/𐤏𐤉𐤓 hair of the city HTd/Ncfsa אֲשֶׁ֛ר 𐤀𐤔𐤓 asher that HTr בְּ/תוֹךְ 𐤁/𐤕𐤅𐤊 betokhe in the middle of HR/Ncmsc הַ/נַּ֥חַל 𐤄/𐤍𐤇𐤋 hanachal the valley HTd/Ncmsa הַ/גָּ֖ד 𐤄/𐤂𐤃 hagad of Gad HTd/Np וְ/אֶל 𐤅/𐤀𐤋 veel and toward HC/R יַעְזֵֽר 𐤉𐤏𐤆𐤓 yaezer Jazer HNp

and they came to Gilead and to land of Tahtim Hodshi and they came to Dan-jaan jaan and around to Sidon

6 וַ/יָּבֹ֨אוּ֙ 𐤅/𐤉𐤁𐤀𐤅 vayavou and they came HC/Vqw3mp הַ/גִּלְעָ֔דָ/ה 𐤄/𐤂𐤋𐤏𐤃/𐤄 hagileadah to Gilead HTd/Np/Sd וְ/אֶל 𐤅/𐤀𐤋 veel and to HC/R אֶ֥רֶץ 𐤀𐤓𐤑 erets land HNcbsc תַּחְתִּ֖ים 𐤕𐤇𐤕𐤉𐤌 tachetim of Tahtim HNp חָדְשִׁ֑י 𐤇𐤃𐤔𐤉 chadeshi Hodshi HNp וַ/יָּבֹ֨אוּ֙ 𐤅/𐤉𐤁𐤀𐤅 vayavou-2 and they came HC/Vqw3mp דָּ֣נָ/ה 𐤃𐤍/𐤄 danah to Dan-jaan HNp/Sd יַּ֔עַן 𐤉𐤏𐤍 yaan jaan HNp וְ/סָבִ֖יב 𐤅/𐤎𐤁𐤉𐤁 vesaviv and around HC/Ncbsa אֶל 𐤀𐤋 el to HR צִידֽוֹן 𐤑𐤉𐤃𐤅𐤍 tsidon Sidon HNp

and they came the fortress of Tyre and all cities of the Hivites and of the Canaanites and they went out to the Negev of Judah Beersheba Beersheba

7 וַ/יָּבֹ֨אוּ֙ 𐤅/𐤉𐤁𐤀𐤅 vayavou and they came HC/Vqw3mp מִבְצַר 𐤌𐤁𐤑𐤓 mivetsar the fortress HNcmsc צֹ֔ר 𐤑𐤓 tsor of Tyre HNp וְ/כָל 𐤅/𐤊𐤋 vekhal and all HC/Ncmsc עָרֵ֥י 𐤏𐤓𐤉 arey cities HNcfpc הַ/חִוִּ֖י 𐤄/𐤇𐤅𐤉 hachivi of the Hivites HTd/Ngmsa וְ/הַֽ/כְּנַעֲנִ֑י 𐤅/𐤄/𐤊𐤍𐤏𐤍𐤉 vehakenaani and of the Canaanites HC/Td/Ngmsa וַ/יֵּֽצְא֛וּ 𐤅/𐤉𐤑𐤀𐤅 vayetseu and they went out HC/Vqw3mp אֶל 𐤀𐤋 el to HR נֶ֥גֶב 𐤍𐤂𐤁 negev the Negev HNcmsc יְהוּדָ֖ה 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤃𐤄 yehudah of Judah HNp בְּאֵ֥ר 𐤁𐤀𐤓 beer Beersheba HNp שָֽׁבַע 𐤔𐤁𐤏 shava Beersheba HNp

and they went about through all the land and they came from the end nine months and twenty days to Jerusalem

8 וַ/יָּשֻׁ֖טוּ 𐤅/𐤉𐤔𐤈𐤅 vayashutu and they went about HC/Vqw3mp בְּ/כָל 𐤁/𐤊𐤋 bekhal through all HR/Ncmsc הָ/אָ֑רֶץ 𐤄/𐤀𐤓𐤑 haarets the land HTd/Ncbsa וַ/יָּבֹ֜אוּ 𐤅/𐤉𐤁𐤀𐤅 vayavou and they came HC/Vqw3mp מִ/קְצֵ֨ה 𐤌/𐤒𐤑𐤄 miqetseh from the end HR/Ncbsc תִשְׁעָ֧ה 𐤕𐤔𐤏𐤄 tisheah nine HAcmsa חֳדָשִׁ֛ים 𐤇𐤃𐤔𐤉𐤌 chodashim Umwenshi (Bemba) months HNcmpa וְ/עֶשְׂרִ֥ים 𐤅/𐤏𐤔𐤓𐤉𐤌 veeserim and twenty HC/Acbpa י֖וֹם 𐤉𐤅𐤌 yom days HNcmsa יְרוּשָׁלִָֽם 𐤉𐤓𐤅𐤔𐤋𐤌 yerushalaim to Jerusalem HNp

gave Joab the sum of the registration of the people to the king there were Israel eight hundred thousand men valiant who drew the sword and the men of Judah five hundred thousand men

9 וַ/יִּתֵּ֥ן 𐤅/𐤉𐤕𐤍 vayiten gave HC/Vqw3ms יוֹאָ֛ב 𐤉𐤅𐤀𐤁 yoav Joab HNp אֶת 𐤀𐤕 et the HTo מִסְפַּ֥ר 𐤌𐤎𐤐𐤓 misepar sum HNcmsc מִפְקַד 𐤌𐤐𐤒𐤃 mifeqad of the registration HNcmsc הָ/עָ֖ם 𐤄/𐤏𐤌 haam of the people HTd/Ncmsa אֶל 𐤀𐤋 el to HR הַ/מֶּ֑לֶךְ 𐤄/𐤌𐤋𐤊 hamelekhe the king HTd/Ncmsa וַ/תְּהִ֣י 𐤅/𐤕𐤄𐤉 vatehi there were HC/Vqw3fs יִשְׂרָאֵ֡ל 𐤉𐤔𐤓𐤀𐤋 yiserael Israel HNp שְׁמֹנֶה֩ 𐤔𐤌𐤍𐤄 shemoneh eight HAcfsa מֵא֨וֹת 𐤌𐤀𐤅𐤕 meot hundred HAcbpa אֶ֤לֶף 𐤀𐤋𐤐 elef thousand HAcbsa אִֽישׁ 𐤀𐤉𐤔 ish men HNcmsc חַ֨יִל֙ 𐤇𐤉𐤋 chayil valiant HNcmsa שֹׁ֣לֵֽף 𐤔𐤋𐤐 sholef who drew HVqrmsa חֶ֔רֶב 𐤇𐤓𐤁 cherev the sword HNcfsa וְ/אִ֣ישׁ 𐤅/𐤀𐤉𐤔 veish and the men HC/Ncmsc יְהוּדָ֔ה 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤃𐤄 yehudah of Judah HNp חֲמֵשׁ 𐤇𐤌𐤔 chamesh five HAcfsa מֵא֥וֹת 𐤌𐤀𐤅𐤕 meot-2 hundred HAcbpa אֶ֖לֶף 𐤀𐤋𐤐 elef-2 thousand HAcbsa אִֽישׁ 𐤀𐤉𐤔 ish-2 men HNcmsa

And David arose David in the morning and the word of YHWH was to Gad the prophet seer of David saying

Go and-speak to David Thus says YHWH three I am-offering to-you choose for-yourself one of-them and-I-will-do to-you

and came Gad to David and told him and said to him shall come to you seven years famine in your land or three months you flee before your foes while he pursues you or that there be three days pestilence in your land now know and see what I shall return my sender word

all these gives Araunah O king to the king And ... said Araunah to the king YHWH your God accept you

and said the king to Araunah No for I will surely buy I will buy from you for a price nor will I offer to YHWH my God burnt offerings for nothing and bought David the threshing floor and the oxen with silver shekels fifty
