Exodus 22

If breaking in he is found the thief and is struck and dies there is to him bloodguilt

1 אִם 𐤀𐤌 im If HC בַּ/מַּחְתֶּ֛רֶת 𐤁/𐤌𐤇𐤕𐤓𐤕 bamacheteret breaking in HRd/Ncfsa יִמָּצֵ֥א 𐤉𐤌𐤑𐤀 yimatse he is found HVNi3ms הַ/גַּנָּ֖ב 𐤄/𐤂𐤍𐤁 haganav the thief HTd/Ncmsa וְ/הֻכָּ֣ה 𐤅/𐤄𐤊𐤄 vehukah and is struck HC/VHp3ms וָ/מֵ֑ת 𐤅/𐤌𐤕 vamet and dies HC/Vqp3ms אֵ֥ין 𐤀𐤉𐤍 eyn there is HTn ל֖/וֹ 𐤋/𐤅 lo to him HR/Sp3ms דָּמִֽים 𐤃𐤌𐤉𐤌 damim bloodguilt HNcmpa

If shines the sun on him bloodguilt for him he shall repay he shall repay if there is not to him and he shall be sold for his theft

2 אִם 𐤀𐤌 im If HC זָרְחָ֥ה 𐤆𐤓𐤇𐤄 zarechah shines HVqp3fs הַ/שֶּׁ֛מֶשׁ 𐤄/𐤔𐤌𐤔 hashemesh the sun HTd/Ncbsa עָלָ֖י/ו 𐤏𐤋𐤉/𐤅 alayv on him HR/Sp3ms דָּמִ֣ים 𐤃𐤌𐤉𐤌 damim bloodguilt HNcmpa ל֑/וֹ 𐤋/𐤅 lo for him HR/Sp3ms שַׁלֵּ֣ם 𐤔𐤋𐤌 shalem he shall repay HVpa יְשַׁלֵּ֔ם 𐤉𐤔𐤋𐤌 yeshalem he shall repay HVpi3ms אִם 𐤀𐤌 im-2 if HC אֵ֣ין 𐤀𐤉𐤍 eyn there is not HTn ל֔/וֹ 𐤋/𐤅 lo-2 to him HR/Sp3ms וְ/נִמְכַּ֖ר 𐤅/𐤍𐤌𐤊𐤓 venimekar and he shall be sold HC/VNq3ms בִּ/גְנֵבָתֽ/וֹ 𐤁/𐤂𐤍𐤁𐤕/𐤅 bigenevato for his theft HR/Ncfsc/Sp3ms

if it-is-found it-is-found in-his-hand the-stolen-item from-ox to donkey to sheep alive twofold he-shall-pay

3 אִֽם 𐤀𐤌 im if HC הִמָּצֵא֩ 𐤄𐤌𐤑𐤀 himatse it-is-found HVNa תִמָּצֵ֨א 𐤕𐤌𐤑𐤀 timatse it-is-found HVNi3fs בְ/יָד֜/וֹ 𐤁/𐤉𐤃/𐤅 veyado in-his-hand HR/Ncbsc/Sp3ms הַ/גְּנֵבָ֗ה 𐤄/𐤂𐤍𐤁𐤄 hagenevah the-stolen-item HTd/Ncfsa מִ/שּׁ֧וֹר 𐤌/𐤔𐤅𐤓 mishor from-ox HR/Ncmsa עַד 𐤏𐤃 ad to HR חֲמ֛וֹר 𐤇𐤌𐤅𐤓 chamor donkey HNcbsa עַד 𐤏𐤃 ad-2 to HR שֶׂ֖ה 𐤔𐤄 seh sheep HNcbsa חַיִּ֑ים 𐤇𐤉𐤉𐤌 chayim alive HAampa שְׁנַ֖יִם 𐤔𐤍𐤉𐤌 shenayim twofold HAcmda יְשַׁלֵּֽם 𐤉𐤔𐤋𐤌 yeshalem he-shall-pay HVpi3ms

if he grazes a man field or vineyard and lets loose his livestock his livestock and it grazes in another's field another's the best of his field and the best of his vineyard he shall make restitution

4 כִּ֤י 𐤊𐤉 ki if HC יַבְעֶר 𐤉𐤁𐤏𐤓 yaveer he grazes HVhi3ms אִישׁ֙ 𐤀𐤉𐤔 ish a man HNcmsa שָׂדֶ֣ה 𐤔𐤃𐤄 sadeh field HNcmsa אוֹ 𐤀𐤅 o or HC כֶ֔רֶם 𐤊𐤓𐤌 kherem vineyard HNcbsa וְ/שִׁלַּח֙ 𐤅/𐤔𐤋𐤇 veshilach and lets loose HC/Vpp3ms אֶת 𐤀𐤕 et HTo בעיר/ה 𐤁𐤏𐤉𐤓/𐤄 vyrh his livestock HNcmsc/Sp3ms בְּעִיר֔/וֹ 𐤁𐤏𐤉𐤓/𐤅 beiro his livestock HNcmsc/Sp3ms וּ/בִעֵ֖ר 𐤅/𐤁𐤏𐤓 uvier and it grazes HC/Vpq3ms בִּ/שְׂדֵ֣ה 𐤁/𐤔𐤃𐤄 bisedeh in another's field HR/Ncmsc אַחֵ֑ר 𐤀𐤇𐤓 acher another's HAamsa מֵיטַ֥ב 𐤌𐤉𐤈𐤁 meytav the best HNcmsc שָׂדֵ֛/הוּ 𐤔𐤃/𐤄𐤅 sadehu of his field HNcmsc/Sp3ms וּ/מֵיטַ֥ב 𐤅/𐤌𐤉𐤈𐤁 umeytav and the best HC/Ncmsc כַּרְמ֖/וֹ 𐤊𐤓𐤌/𐤅 karemo of his vineyard HNcbsc/Sp3ms יְשַׁלֵּֽם 𐤉𐤔𐤋𐤌 yeshalem he shall make restitution HVpi3ms

If goes out fire and finds thorns and consumes stack or the standing grain or the field he shall make full restitution he shall restore the one who starts - the burning

5 כִּֽי 𐤊𐤉 ki If HC תֵצֵ֨א 𐤕𐤑𐤀 tetse goes out HVqi3fs אֵ֜שׁ 𐤀𐤔 esh fire HNcbsa וּ/מָצְאָ֤ה 𐤅/𐤌𐤑𐤀𐤄 umatseah and finds HC/Vqq3fs קֹצִים֙ 𐤒𐤑𐤉𐤌 qotsim thorns HNcmpa וְ/נֶאֱכַ֣ל 𐤅/𐤍𐤀𐤊𐤋 veneekhal and consumes HC/VNp3ms גָּדִ֔ישׁ 𐤂𐤃𐤉𐤔 gadish stack HNcmsa א֥וֹ 𐤀𐤅 o or HC הַ/קָּמָ֖ה 𐤄/𐤒𐤌𐤄 haqamah the standing grain HTd/Ncfsa א֣וֹ 𐤀𐤅 o-2 or HC הַ/שָּׂדֶ֑ה 𐤄/𐤔𐤃𐤄 hasadeh the field HTd/Ncmsa שַׁלֵּ֣ם 𐤔𐤋𐤌 shalem he shall make full restitution HVpa יְשַׁלֵּ֔ם 𐤉𐤔𐤋𐤌 yeshalem he shall restore HVpi3ms הַ/מַּבְעִ֖ר 𐤄/𐤌𐤁𐤏𐤓 hamaveir the one who starts HTd/Vhrmsa אֶת 𐤀𐤕 et - HTo הַ/בְּעֵרָֽה 𐤄/𐤁𐤏𐤓𐤄 habeerah the burning HTd/Ncfsa

If a man gives a man to his neighbor money or goods to keep and it is stolen from the house of the man if is found the thief he shall pay double

6 כִּֽי 𐤊𐤉 ki If HC יִתֵּן֩ 𐤉𐤕𐤍 yiten a man gives HVqi3ms אִ֨ישׁ 𐤀𐤉𐤔 ish a man HNcmsa אֶל 𐤀𐤋 el to HR רֵעֵ֜/הוּ 𐤓𐤏/𐤄𐤅 reehu his neighbor HNcmsc/Sp3ms כֶּ֤סֶף 𐤊𐤎𐤐 kesef money HNcmsa אֽוֹ 𐤀𐤅 o or HC כֵלִים֙ 𐤊𐤋𐤉𐤌 khelim goods HNcmpa לִ/שְׁמֹ֔ר 𐤋/𐤔𐤌𐤓 lishemor to keep HR/Vqc וְ/גֻנַּ֖ב 𐤅/𐤂𐤍𐤁 vegunav and it is stolen HC/VPq3ms מִ/בֵּ֣ית 𐤌/𐤁𐤉𐤕 mibeyt from the house HR/Ncmsc הָ/אִ֑ישׁ 𐤄/𐤀𐤉𐤔 haish of the man HTd/Ncmsa אִם 𐤀𐤌 im if HC יִמָּצֵ֥א 𐤉𐤌𐤑𐤀 yimatse is found HVNi3ms הַ/גַּנָּ֖ב 𐤄/𐤂𐤍𐤁 haganav the thief HTd/Ncmsa יְשַׁלֵּ֥ם 𐤉𐤔𐤋𐤌 yeshalem he shall pay HVpi3ms שְׁנָֽיִם 𐤔𐤍𐤉𐤌 shenayim double HAcmda

if not is found the thief then shall come near owner of the house to God if not he sent his hand in the property of his neighbor

7 אִם 𐤀𐤌 im if HC לֹ֤א 𐤋𐤀 lo not HTn יִמָּצֵא֙ 𐤉𐤌𐤑𐤀 yimatse is found HVNi3ms הַ/גַּנָּ֔ב 𐤄/𐤂𐤍𐤁 haganav the thief HTd/Ncmsa וְ/נִקְרַ֥ב 𐤅/𐤍𐤒𐤓𐤁 veniqerav then shall come near HC/VNp3ms בַּֽעַל 𐤁𐤏𐤋 baal owner HNcmsc הַ/בַּ֖יִת 𐤄/𐤁𐤉𐤕 habayit of the house HTd/Ncmsa אֶל 𐤀𐤋 el to HR הָֽ/אֱלֹהִ֑ים 𐤄/𐤀𐤋𐤄𐤉𐤌 haelohim Mulimu (Lozi) God HTd/Ncmpa אִם 𐤀𐤌 im-2 if HC לֹ֥א 𐤋𐤀 lo-2 not HTn שָׁלַ֛ח 𐤔𐤋𐤇 shalach he sent HVqp3ms יָד֖/וֹ 𐤉𐤃/𐤅 yado his hand HNcbsc/Sp3ms בִּ/מְלֶ֥אכֶת 𐤁/𐤌𐤋𐤀𐤊𐤕 bimelekhet in the property HR/Ncfsc רֵעֵֽ/הוּ 𐤓𐤏/𐤄𐤅 reehu of his neighbor HNcmsc/Sp3ms

concerning every matter of transgression concerning ox concerning donkey concerning sheep concerning garment concerning any lost thing that he says that it is this until the judges shall come the matter of both of them whom God shall condemn God he shall pay double to his neighbor

8 עַֽל 𐤏𐤋 al concerning HR כָּל 𐤊𐤋 kal every HNcmsc דְּבַר 𐤃𐤁𐤓 devar matter HNcmsc פֶּ֡שַׁע 𐤐𐤔𐤏 pesha of transgression HNcmsa עַל 𐤏𐤋 al-2 concerning HR שׁ֡וֹר 𐤔𐤅𐤓 shor ox HNcmsa עַל 𐤏𐤋 al-3 concerning HR חֲ֠מוֹר 𐤇𐤌𐤅𐤓 chamor donkey HNcbsa עַל 𐤏𐤋 al-4 concerning HR שֶׂ֨ה 𐤔𐤄 seh sheep HNcbsa עַל 𐤏𐤋 al-5 concerning HR שַׂלְמָ֜ה 𐤔𐤋𐤌𐤄 salemah garment HNcfsa עַל 𐤏𐤋 al-6 concerning HR כָּל 𐤊𐤋 kal-2 any HNcmsc אֲבֵדָ֗ה 𐤀𐤁𐤃𐤄 avedah lost thing HNcfsa אֲשֶׁ֤ר 𐤀𐤔𐤓 asher that HTr יֹאמַר֙ 𐤉𐤀𐤌𐤓 yomar he says HVqi3ms כִּי 𐤊𐤉 ki that HC ה֣וּא 𐤄𐤅𐤀 hu it is HPp3ms זֶ֔ה 𐤆𐤄 zeh this HPdxms עַ֚ד 𐤏𐤃 ad until HR הָֽ/אֱלֹהִ֔ים 𐤄/𐤀𐤋𐤄𐤉𐤌 haelohim Mulimu (Lozi) the judges HTd/Ncmpa יָבֹ֖א 𐤉𐤁𐤀 yavo shall come HVqi3ms דְּבַר 𐤃𐤁𐤓 devar-2 the matter HNcmsc שְׁנֵי/הֶ֑ם 𐤔𐤍𐤉/𐤄𐤌 sheneyhem of both of them HAcmdc/Sp3mp אֲשֶׁ֤ר 𐤀𐤔𐤓 asher-2 whom HTr יַרְשִׁיעֻ/ן֙ 𐤉𐤓𐤔𐤉𐤏/𐤍 yareshiun God shall condemn HVhi3mp/Sn אֱלֹהִ֔ים 𐤀𐤋𐤄𐤉𐤌 elohim Mulimu (Lozi) God HNcmpa יְשַׁלֵּ֥ם 𐤉𐤔𐤋𐤌 yeshalem he shall pay HVpi3ms שְׁנַ֖יִם 𐤔𐤍𐤉𐤌 shenayim double HAcmda לְ/רֵעֵֽ/הוּ 𐤋/𐤓𐤏/𐤄𐤅 lereehu to his neighbor HR/Ncmsc/Sp3ms

for gives a man to his neighbor donkey or ox or sheep or any livestock to keep and it dies or is hurt or driven away there is no witness

9 כִּֽי 𐤊𐤉 ki for HC יִתֵּן֩ 𐤉𐤕𐤍 yiten gives HVqi3ms אִ֨ישׁ 𐤀𐤉𐤔 ish a man HNcmsa אֶל 𐤀𐤋 el to HR רֵעֵ֜/הוּ 𐤓𐤏/𐤄𐤅 reehu his neighbor HNcmsc/Sp3ms חֲמ֨וֹר 𐤇𐤌𐤅𐤓 chamor donkey HNcbsa אוֹ 𐤀𐤅 o or HC שׁ֥וֹר 𐤔𐤅𐤓 shor ox HNcmsa אוֹ 𐤀𐤅 o-2 or HC שֶׂ֛ה 𐤔𐤄 seh sheep HNcbsa וְ/כָל 𐤅/𐤊𐤋 vekhal or any HC/Ncmsc בְּהֵמָ֖ה 𐤁𐤄𐤌𐤄 behemah livestock HNcfsa לִ/שְׁמֹ֑ר 𐤋/𐤔𐤌𐤓 lishemor to keep HR/Vqc וּ/מֵ֛ת 𐤅/𐤌𐤕 umet and it dies HC/Vqp3ms אוֹ 𐤀𐤅 o-3 or HC נִשְׁבַּ֥ר 𐤍𐤔𐤁𐤓 nishebar is hurt HVNp3ms אוֹ 𐤀𐤅 o-4 or HC נִשְׁבָּ֖ה 𐤍𐤔𐤁𐤄 nishebah driven away HVNp3ms אֵ֥ין 𐤀𐤉𐤍 eyn there is no HTn רֹאֶֽה 𐤓𐤀𐤄 roeh witness HVqrmsa

oath of YHWH shall be between the two of them if not he has stretched out his hand in the work of his neighbor and shall take the owner of it and not he shall make restitution

10 שְׁבֻעַ֣ת 𐤔𐤁𐤏𐤕 shevuat oath HNcfsc יְהוָ֗ה 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 yehvah Nyambe (Lozi) of YHWH HNp תִּהְיֶה֙ 𐤕𐤄𐤉𐤄 tiheyeh shall be HVqi3fs בֵּ֣ין 𐤁𐤉𐤍 beyn between HR שְׁנֵי/הֶ֔ם 𐤔𐤍𐤉/𐤄𐤌 sheneyhem the two of them HAcmdc/Sp3mp אִם 𐤀𐤌 im if HC לֹ֥א 𐤋𐤀 lo not HTn שָׁלַ֛ח 𐤔𐤋𐤇 shalach he has stretched out HVqp3ms יָד֖/וֹ 𐤉𐤃/𐤅 yado his hand HNcbsc/Sp3ms בִּ/מְלֶ֣אכֶת 𐤁/𐤌𐤋𐤀𐤊𐤕 bimelekhet in the work HR/Ncfsc רֵעֵ֑/הוּ 𐤓𐤏/𐤄𐤅 reehu of his neighbor HNcmsc/Sp3ms וְ/לָקַ֥ח 𐤅/𐤋𐤒𐤇 velaqach and shall take HC/Vqq3ms בְּעָלָ֖י/ו 𐤁𐤏𐤋𐤉/𐤅 bealayv the owner of it HNcmpc/Sp3ms וְ/לֹ֥א 𐤅/𐤋𐤀 velo and not HC/Tn יְשַׁלֵּֽם 𐤉𐤔𐤋𐤌 yeshalem he shall make restitution HVpi3ms

and-if it-is-stolen it-be-stolen from-with-him he-shall-make-restitution to-its-owner

11 וְ/אִם 𐤅/𐤀𐤌 veim and-if HC/C גָּנֹ֥ב 𐤂𐤍𐤁 ganov it-is-stolen HVqa יִגָּנֵ֖ב 𐤉𐤂𐤍𐤁 yiganev it-be-stolen HVNi3ms מֵ/עִמּ֑/וֹ 𐤌/𐤏𐤌/𐤅 meimo from-with-him HR/R/Sp3ms יְשַׁלֵּ֖ם 𐤉𐤔𐤋𐤌 yeshalem he-shall-make-restitution HVpi3ms לִ/בְעָלָֽי/ו 𐤋/𐤁𐤏𐤋𐤉/𐤅 livealayv to-its-owner HR/Ncmpc/Sp3ms

if torn it is torn he brings it as evidence the torn animal not he shall make restitution

12 אִם 𐤀𐤌 im if HC טָרֹ֥ף 𐤈𐤓𐤐 tarof torn HVqa יִטָּרֵ֖ף 𐤉𐤈𐤓𐤐 yitaref it is torn HVNi3ms יְבִאֵ֣/הוּ 𐤉𐤁𐤀/𐤄𐤅 yeviehu he brings it HVhi3ms/Sp3ms עֵ֑ד 𐤏𐤃 ed as evidence HNcmsa הַ/טְּרֵפָ֖ה 𐤄/𐤈𐤓𐤐𐤄 haterefah the torn animal HTd/Ncfsa לֹ֥א 𐤋𐤀 lo not HTn יְשַׁלֵּֽם 𐤉𐤔𐤋𐤌 yeshalem he shall make restitution HVpi3ms

And if he borrows a man from with his neighbor and it is broken or dies its owner not with him making restitution he shall make restitution

13 וְ/כִֽי 𐤅/𐤊𐤉 vekhi And if HC/C יִשְׁאַ֥ל 𐤉𐤔𐤀𐤋 yisheal he borrows HVqi3ms אִ֛ישׁ 𐤀𐤉𐤔 ish a man HNcmsa מֵ/עִ֥ם 𐤌/𐤏𐤌 meim from with HR/R רֵעֵ֖/הוּ 𐤓𐤏/𐤄𐤅 reehu his neighbor HNcmsc/Sp3ms וְ/נִשְׁבַּ֣ר 𐤅/𐤍𐤔𐤁𐤓 venishebar and it is broken HC/VNp3ms אוֹ 𐤀𐤅 o or HC מֵ֑ת 𐤌𐤕 met dies HVqp3ms בְּעָלָ֥י/ו 𐤁𐤏𐤋𐤉/𐤅 bealayv its owner HNcmpc/Sp3ms אֵין 𐤀𐤉𐤍 eyn not HTn עִמּ֖/וֹ 𐤏𐤌/𐤅 imo with him HR/Sp3ms שַׁלֵּ֥ם 𐤔𐤋𐤌 shalem making restitution HVpa יְשַׁלֵּֽם 𐤉𐤔𐤋𐤌 yeshalem he shall make restitution HVpi3ms

if its owner is with it not he shall make restitution if hired it comes for its hire

14 אִם 𐤀𐤌 im if HC בְּעָלָ֥י/ו 𐤁𐤏𐤋𐤉/𐤅 bealayv its owner HNcmpc/Sp3ms עִמּ֖/וֹ 𐤏𐤌/𐤅 imo is with it HR/Sp3ms לֹ֣א 𐤋𐤀 lo not HTn יְשַׁלֵּ֑ם 𐤉𐤔𐤋𐤌 yeshalem he shall make restitution HVpi3ms אִם 𐤀𐤌 im-2 if HC שָׂכִ֣יר 𐤔𐤊𐤉𐤓 sakhir hired HAamsa ה֔וּא 𐤄𐤅𐤀 hu it HPp3ms בָּ֖א 𐤁𐤀 ba comes HVqp3ms בִּ/שְׂכָרֽ/וֹ 𐤁/𐤔𐤊𐤓/𐤅 bisekharo for its hire HR/Ncmsc/Sp3ms

and-if seduces a man virgin who not betrothed and-lies with-her morning he-shall-endow-her to-him as-wife

15 וְ/כִֽי 𐤅/𐤊𐤉 vekhi and-if HC/C יְפַתֶּ֣ה 𐤉𐤐𐤕𐤄 yefateh seduces HVpi3ms אִ֗ישׁ 𐤀𐤉𐤔 ish a man HNcmsa בְּתוּלָ֛ה 𐤁𐤕𐤅𐤋𐤄 betulah virgin HNcfsa אֲשֶׁ֥ר 𐤀𐤔𐤓 asher who HTr לֹא 𐤋𐤀 lo not HTn אֹרָ֖שָׂה 𐤀𐤓𐤔𐤄 orasah betrothed HVPp3fs וְ/שָׁכַ֣ב 𐤅/𐤔𐤊𐤁 veshakhav and-lies HC/Vqp3ms עִמָּ֑/הּ 𐤏𐤌/𐤄 imah with-her HR/Sp3fs מָהֹ֛ר 𐤌𐤄𐤓 mahor morning HVqa יִמְהָרֶ֥/נָּה 𐤉𐤌𐤄𐤓/𐤍𐤄 yimeharenah he-shall-endow-her HVqi3ms/Sp3fs לּ֖/וֹ 𐤋/𐤅 lo-2 to-him HR/Sp3ms לְ/אִשָּֽׁה 𐤋/𐤀𐤔𐤄 leishah as-wife HR/Ncfsa

If refuses to give her father her to him to him money he shall pay according to the bride-price of virgins

16 אִם 𐤀𐤌 im If HC מָאֵ֧ן 𐤌𐤀𐤍 maen refuses HVpa יְמָאֵ֛ן 𐤉𐤌𐤀𐤍 yemaen to give HVpi3ms אָבִ֖י/הָ 𐤀𐤁𐤉/𐤄 aviha her father HNcmsc/Sp3fs לְ/תִתָּ֣/הּ 𐤋/𐤕𐤕/𐤄 letitah her to him HR/Vqc/Sp3fs ל֑/וֹ 𐤋/𐤅 lo to him HR/Sp3ms כֶּ֣סֶף 𐤊𐤎𐤐 kesef money HNcmsa יִשְׁקֹ֔ל 𐤉𐤔𐤒𐤋 yisheqol he shall pay HVqi3ms כְּ/מֹ֖הַר 𐤊/𐤌𐤄𐤓 kemohar according to the bride-price HR/Ncmsc הַ/בְּתוּלֹֽת 𐤄/𐤁𐤕𐤅𐤋𐤕 habetulot of virgins HTd/Ncfpa

sorceress not you shall let live

17 מְכַשֵּׁפָ֖ה 𐤌𐤊𐤔𐤐𐤄 mekhashefah sorceress HVprfsa לֹ֥א 𐤋𐤀 lo not HTn תְחַיֶּֽה 𐤕𐤇𐤉𐤄 techayeh you shall let live HVpi2ms

Whoever lies with an animal shall surely be put to death

18 כָּל 𐤊𐤋 kal Whoever HNcmsc שֹׁכֵ֥ב 𐤔𐤊𐤁 shokhev lies HVqrmsa עִם 𐤏𐤌 im with HR בְּהֵמָ֖ה 𐤁𐤄𐤌𐤄 behemah an animal HNcfsa מ֥וֹת 𐤌𐤅𐤕 mot shall surely HVqa יוּמָֽת 𐤉𐤅𐤌𐤕 yumat be put to death HVHi3ms
