Behold small I have made you among the nations despised you greatly

arrogance of your heart has deceived you you who dwell in the clefts of the rock loftiness of your dwelling who say in his heart who will bring me down to earth

Though you exalt like an eagle and though among the stars you set your nest from there I will bring you down declares YHWH

If thieves came to you if robbers by night how you have been cut off would they not steal until they had enough If grape-gatherers came to you would they not leave some gleanings

How have been searched Esau are sought out his hidden treasures

to the border they have sent you all the men of your covenant have deceived you have prevailed against you the men of your peace your bread they lay a snare under you there is no understanding in him

Shall not in the day that declares YHWH and I will destroy the wise men from Edom and understanding from the mountain of Esau

on the day you stood aloof on the day carried away captive strangers his wealth and foreigners entered his gate his gates and on Jerusalem they cast lots also you as one of them

not enter into the gate of My people in the day of their calamity not look also you on their affliction in the day of their calamity nor send out on their forces in the day of their calamity

For near day YHWH upon all the nations as you have done it will be done to you your recompense will return upon your head

For as you have drunk on mountain my holy they will drink all the nations continually and they will drink and gulp down and they will be as if not they had been
