King David addresses the assembly, noting Solomon's youth, details his vast personal gifts of gold, silver, and materials for the temple of YHWH, and calls for willing contributions, which the leaders and people provide generously with joy.[1][2] David prays praising YHWH's sovereignty, acknowledging all gifts come from Him, requests a perfect heart for Solomon, blesses YHWH, and the people offer sacrifices, anoint Solomon king, and submit to him as YHWH exalts him.[1][2]
