Then said YHWH to Moses Say to Aaron Stretch out [direct object marker] your hand with your staff over the rivers over the canals and over the ponds and bring up [direct object marker] the frogs upon the land of Egypt

1 וַ/יֹּ֣אמֶר 𐤅/𐤉𐤀𐤌𐤓 vayomer Then said HC/Vqw3ms יְהוָה֮ 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 yehvah Nyambe (Lozi) YHWH HNp אֶל 𐤀𐤋 el to HR מֹשֶׁה֒ 𐤌𐤔𐤄 mosheh Moses HNp אֱמֹ֣ר 𐤀𐤌𐤓 emor Say HVqv2ms אֶֽל 𐤀𐤋 el-2 to HR אַהֲרֹ֗ן 𐤀𐤄𐤓𐤍 aharon Aaron HNp נְטֵ֤ה 𐤍𐤈𐤄 neteh Stretch out HVqv2ms אֶת 𐤀𐤕 et [direct object marker] HTo יָדְ/ךָ֙ 𐤉𐤃/𐤊 yadekha your hand HNcbsc/Sp2ms בְּ/מַטֶּ֔/ךָ 𐤁/𐤌𐤈/𐤊 bematekha with your staff HR/Ncmsc/Sp2ms עַל 𐤏𐤋 al over HR הַ֨/נְּהָרֹ֔ת 𐤄/𐤍𐤄𐤓𐤕 haneharot the rivers HTd/Ncmpa עַל 𐤏𐤋 al-2 over HR הַ/יְאֹרִ֖ים 𐤄/𐤉𐤀𐤓𐤉𐤌 hayeorim the canals HTd/Ncmpa וְ/עַל 𐤅/𐤏𐤋 veal and over HC/R הָ/אֲגַמִּ֑ים 𐤄/𐤀𐤂𐤌𐤉𐤌 haagamim the ponds HTd/Ncmpa וְ/הַ֥עַל 𐤅/𐤄𐤏𐤋 vehaal and bring up HC/Vhv2ms אֶת 𐤀𐤕 et-2 [direct object marker] HTo הַֽ/צְפַרְדְּעִ֖ים 𐤄/𐤑𐤐𐤓𐤃𐤏𐤉𐤌 hatsefaredeim the frogs HTd/Ncfpa עַל 𐤏𐤋 al-3 upon HR אֶ֥רֶץ 𐤀𐤓𐤑 erets the land of HNcbsc מִצְרָֽיִם 𐤌𐤑𐤓𐤉𐤌 mitserayim Egypt HNp

So stretched out Aaron [direct object marker] his hand over the waters of Egypt and came up the frog and covered [direct object marker] the land of Egypt

And did likewise the magicians with their secret arts and brought up [direct object marker] the frogs upon the land of Egypt

3 וַ/יַּֽעֲשׂוּ 𐤅/𐤉𐤏𐤔𐤅 vayaasu And did HC/Vqw3mp כֵ֥ן 𐤊𐤍 khen likewise HD הַֽ/חֲרְטֻמִּ֖ים 𐤄/𐤇𐤓𐤈𐤌𐤉𐤌 hacharetumim the magicians HTd/Ncmpa בְּ/לָטֵי/הֶ֑ם 𐤁/𐤋𐤈𐤉/𐤄𐤌 belateyhem with their secret arts HR/Ncmpc/Sp3mp וַ/יַּעֲל֥וּ 𐤅/𐤉𐤏𐤋𐤅 vayaalu and brought up HC/Vhw3mp אֶת 𐤀𐤕 et [direct object marker] HTo הַֽ/צְפַרְדְּעִ֖ים 𐤄/𐤑𐤐𐤓𐤃𐤏𐤉𐤌 hatsefaredeim the frogs HTd/Ncfpa עַל 𐤏𐤋 al upon HR אֶ֥רֶץ 𐤀𐤓𐤑 erets the land of HNcbsc מִצְרָֽיִם 𐤌𐤑𐤓𐤉𐤌 mitserayim Egypt HNp

Then called Pharaoh for Moses and for Aaron and said Plead to YHWH that he may remove the frogs from me and from my people and I will let go [direct object marker] the people that they may sacrifice to YHWH

And said Moses to Pharaoh Have the honor of telling over me for when shall I plead for you and for your servants and for your people to destroy the frogs from you and from your houses only in the Nile they shall remain

5 וַ/יֹּ֣אמֶר 𐤅/𐤉𐤀𐤌𐤓 vayomer And said HC/Vqw3ms מֹשֶׁ֣ה 𐤌𐤔𐤄 mosheh Moses HNp לְ/פַרְעֹה֮ 𐤋/𐤐𐤓𐤏𐤄 lefareoh to Pharaoh HR/Np הִתְפָּאֵ֣ר 𐤄𐤕𐤐𐤀𐤓 hitepaer Have the honor of telling HVtv2ms עָלַ/י֒ 𐤏𐤋/𐤉 alay over me HR/Sp1cs לְ/מָתַ֣י 𐤋/𐤌𐤕𐤉 lematay for when HR/Ti אַעְתִּ֣יר 𐤀𐤏𐤕𐤉𐤓 aetir shall I plead HVhi1cs לְ/ךָ֗ 𐤋/𐤊 lekha for you HR/Sp2ms וְ/לַ/עֲבָדֶ֨י/ךָ֙ 𐤅/𐤋/𐤏𐤁𐤃𐤉/𐤊 velaavadeykha and for your servants HC/R/Ncmpc/Sp2ms וּֽ/לְ/עַמְּ/ךָ֔ 𐤅/𐤋/𐤏𐤌/𐤊 uleamekha and for your people HC/R/Ncmsc/Sp2ms לְ/הַכְרִית֙ 𐤋/𐤄𐤊𐤓𐤉𐤕 lehakherit to destroy HR/Vhc הַֽ/צֲפַרְדְּעִ֔ים 𐤄/𐤑𐤐𐤓𐤃𐤏𐤉𐤌 hatsafaredeim the frogs HTd/Ncfpa מִמְּ/ךָ֖ 𐤌𐤌/𐤊 mimekha from you HR/Sp2ms וּ/מִ/בָּתֶּ֑י/ךָ 𐤅/𐤌/𐤁𐤕𐤉/𐤊 umibateykha and from your houses HC/R/Ncmpc/Sp2ms רַ֥ק 𐤓𐤒 raq only HTa בַּ/יְאֹ֖ר 𐤁/𐤉𐤀𐤓 bayeor in the Nile HRd/Np תִּשָּׁאַֽרְנָה 𐤕𐤔𐤀𐤓𐤍𐤄 tishaarenah they shall remain HVNi3fp

And he said Tomorrow And he said According to your word so that you may know that there is none like YHWH our God

6 וַ/יֹּ֖אמֶר 𐤅/𐤉𐤀𐤌𐤓 vayomer And he said HC/Vqw3ms לְ/מָחָ֑ר 𐤋/𐤌𐤇𐤓 lemachar Tomorrow HR/Ncmsa וַ/יֹּ֨אמֶר֙ 𐤅/𐤉𐤀𐤌𐤓 vayomer-2 And he said HC/Vqw3ms כִּ/דְבָ֣רְ/ךָ֔ 𐤊/𐤃𐤁𐤓/𐤊 kidevarekha According to your word HR/Ncmsc/Sp2ms לְמַ֣עַן 𐤋𐤌𐤏𐤍 lemaan so that HR תֵּדַ֔ע 𐤕𐤃𐤏 teda you may know HVqi2ms כִּי 𐤊𐤉 ki that HC אֵ֖ין 𐤀𐤉𐤍 eyn there is none HTn כַּ/יהוָ֥ה 𐤊/𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 kayhvah Nyambe (Lozi) like YHWH HR/Np אֱלֹהֵֽי/נוּ 𐤀𐤋𐤄𐤉/𐤍𐤅 eloheynu Mulimu (Lozi) our God HNcmpc/Sp1cp

And shall depart the frogs from you and from your houses and from your servants and from your people only in the Nile they shall remain

7 וְ/סָר֣וּ 𐤅/𐤎𐤓𐤅 vesaru And shall depart HC/Vqq3cp הַֽ/צְפַרְדְּעִ֗ים 𐤄/𐤑𐤐𐤓𐤃𐤏𐤉𐤌 hatsefaredeim the frogs HTd/Ncfpa מִמְּ/ךָ֙ 𐤌𐤌/𐤊 mimekha from you HR/Sp2ms וּ/מִ/בָּ֣תֶּ֔י/ךָ 𐤅/𐤌/𐤁𐤕𐤉/𐤊 umibateykha and from your houses HC/R/Ncmpc/Sp2ms וּ/מֵ/עֲבָדֶ֖י/ךָ 𐤅/𐤌/𐤏𐤁𐤃𐤉/𐤊 umeavadeykha and from your servants HC/R/Ncmpc/Sp2ms וּ/מֵ/עַמֶּ֑/ךָ 𐤅/𐤌/𐤏𐤌/𐤊 umeamekha and from your people HC/R/Ncmsc/Sp2ms רַ֥ק 𐤓𐤒 raq only HTa בַּ/יְאֹ֖ר 𐤁/𐤉𐤀𐤓 bayeor in the Nile HRd/Np תִּשָּׁאַֽרְנָה 𐤕𐤔𐤀𐤓𐤍𐤄 tishaarenah they shall remain HVNi3fp

And went out Moses and Aaron from the presence of Pharaoh and cried out Moses to YHWH concerning the matter of the frogs which he had set upon Pharaoh

8 וַ/יֵּצֵ֥א 𐤅/𐤉𐤑𐤀 vayetse And went out HC/Vqw3ms מֹשֶׁ֛ה 𐤌𐤔𐤄 mosheh Moses HNp וְ/אַהֲרֹ֖ן 𐤅/𐤀𐤄𐤓𐤍 veaharon and Aaron HC/Np מֵ/עִ֣ם 𐤌/𐤏𐤌 meim from the presence of HR/R פַּרְעֹ֑ה 𐤐𐤓𐤏𐤄 pareoh Pharaoh HNp וַ/יִּצְעַ֤ק 𐤅/𐤉𐤑𐤏𐤒 vayitseaq and cried out HC/Vqw3ms מֹשֶׁה֙ 𐤌𐤔𐤄 mosheh-2 Moses HNp אֶל 𐤀𐤋 el to HR יְהוָ֔ה 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 yehvah Nyambe (Lozi) YHWH HNp עַל 𐤏𐤋 al concerning HR דְּבַ֥ר 𐤃𐤁𐤓 devar the matter of HNcmsc הַֽ/צְפַרְדְּעִ֖ים 𐤄/𐤑𐤐𐤓𐤃𐤏𐤉𐤌 hatsefaredeim the frogs HTd/Ncfpa אֲשֶׁר 𐤀𐤔𐤓 asher which HTr שָׂ֥ם 𐤔𐤌 sam he had set HVqp3ms לְ/פַרְעֹֽה 𐤋/𐤐𐤓𐤏𐤄 lefareoh upon Pharaoh HR/Np

And did YHWH according to the word of Moses and died the frogs out of the houses out of the courtyards and out of the fields

9 וַ/יַּ֥עַשׂ 𐤅/𐤉𐤏𐤔 vayaas And did HC/Vqw3ms יְהוָ֖ה 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 yehvah Nyambe (Lozi) YHWH HNp כִּ/דְבַ֣ר 𐤊/𐤃𐤁𐤓 kidevar according to the word of HR/Ncmsc מֹשֶׁ֑ה 𐤌𐤔𐤄 mosheh Moses HNp וַ/יָּמֻ֨תוּ֙ 𐤅/𐤉𐤌𐤕𐤅 vayamutu and died HC/Vqw3mp הַֽ/צְפַרְדְּעִ֔ים 𐤄/𐤑𐤐𐤓𐤃𐤏𐤉𐤌 hatsefaredeim the frogs HTd/Ncfpa מִן 𐤌𐤍 min out of HR הַ/בָּתִּ֥ים 𐤄/𐤁𐤕𐤉𐤌 habatim the houses HTd/Ncmpa מִן 𐤌𐤍 min-2 out of HR הַ/חֲצֵרֹ֖ת 𐤄/𐤇𐤑𐤓𐤕 hachatserot the courtyards HTd/Ncbpa וּ/מִן 𐤅/𐤌𐤍 umin and out of HC/R הַ/שָּׂדֹֽת 𐤄/𐤔𐤃𐤕 hasadot the fields HTd/Ncmpa

And they piled them heaps upon heaps and stank the land

10 וַ/יִּצְבְּר֥וּ 𐤅/𐤉𐤑𐤁𐤓𐤅 vayitseberu And they piled HC/Vqw3mp אֹתָ֖/ם 𐤀𐤕/𐤌 otam them HTo/Sp3mp חֳמָרִ֣ם 𐤇𐤌𐤓𐤌 chomarim heaps HNcmpa חֳמָרִ֑ם 𐤇𐤌𐤓𐤌 chomarim-2 upon heaps HNcmpa וַ/תִּבְאַ֖שׁ 𐤅/𐤕𐤁𐤀𐤔 vativeash and stank HC/Vqw3fs הָ/אָֽרֶץ 𐤄/𐤀𐤓𐤑 haarets the land HTd/Ncbsa

But when saw Pharaoh that there was a respite he hardened [direct object marker] his heart and did not listen to them just as had spoken YHWH

11 וַ/יַּ֣רְא 𐤅/𐤉𐤓𐤀 vayare But when saw HC/Vqw3ms פַּרְעֹ֗ה 𐤐𐤓𐤏𐤄 pareoh Pharaoh HNp כִּ֤י 𐤊𐤉 ki that HC הָֽיְתָה֙ 𐤄𐤉𐤕𐤄 hayetah there was HVqp3fs הָֽ/רְוָחָ֔ה 𐤄/𐤓𐤅𐤇𐤄 harevachah a respite HTd/Ncfsa וְ/הַכְבֵּד֙ 𐤅/𐤄𐤊𐤁𐤃 vehakhebed he hardened HC/Vha אֶת 𐤀𐤕 et [direct object marker] HTo לִבּ֔/וֹ 𐤋𐤁/𐤅 libo his heart HNcmsc/Sp3ms וְ/לֹ֥א 𐤅/𐤋𐤀 velo and did not HC/Tn שָׁמַ֖ע 𐤔𐤌𐤏 shama listen HVqp3ms אֲלֵ/הֶ֑ם 𐤀𐤋/𐤄𐤌 alehem to them HR/Sp3mp כַּ/אֲשֶׁ֖ר 𐤊/𐤀𐤔𐤓 kaasher just as HR/Tr דִּבֶּ֥ר 𐤃𐤁𐤓 diber had spoken HVpp3ms יְהוָֽה 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 yehvah Nyambe (Lozi) YHWH HNp

Then said YHWH to Moses Say to Aaron Stretch out [direct object marker] your staff and strike [direct object marker] the dust of the earth and it shall become gnats in all the land of Egypt

12 וַ/יֹּ֣אמֶר 𐤅/𐤉𐤀𐤌𐤓 vayomer Then said HC/Vqw3ms יְהוָה֮ 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 yehvah Nyambe (Lozi) YHWH HNp אֶל 𐤀𐤋 el to HR מֹשֶׁה֒ 𐤌𐤔𐤄 mosheh Moses HNp אֱמֹר֙ 𐤀𐤌𐤓 emor Say HVqv2ms אֶֽל 𐤀𐤋 el-2 to HR אַהֲרֹ֔ן 𐤀𐤄𐤓𐤍 aharon Aaron HNp נְטֵ֣ה 𐤍𐤈𐤄 neteh Stretch out HVqv2ms אֶֽת 𐤀𐤕 et [direct object marker] HTo מַטְּ/ךָ֔ 𐤌𐤈/𐤊 matekha your staff HNcmsc/Sp2ms וְ/הַ֖ךְ 𐤅/𐤄𐤊 vehakhe and strike HC/Vhv2ms אֶת 𐤀𐤕 et-2 [direct object marker] HTo עֲפַ֣ר 𐤏𐤐𐤓 afar the dust of HNcmsc הָ/אָ֑רֶץ 𐤄/𐤀𐤓𐤑 haarets the earth HTd/Ncbsa וְ/הָיָ֥ה 𐤅/𐤄𐤉𐤄 vehayah and it shall become HC/Vqq3ms לְ/כִנִּ֖ם 𐤋/𐤊𐤍𐤌 lekhinim gnats HR/Ncmpa בְּ/כָל 𐤁/𐤊𐤋 bekhal in all HR/Ncmsc אֶ֥רֶץ 𐤀𐤓𐤑 erets the land of HNcbsc מִצְרָֽיִם 𐤌𐤑𐤓𐤉𐤌 mitserayim Egypt HNp

And they did so and stretched out Aaron [direct object marker] his hand with his staff and struck [direct object marker] the dust of the earth and there were gnats on man and on beast all the dust of the earth became gnats in all the land of Egypt

13 וַ/יַּֽעֲשׂוּ 𐤅/𐤉𐤏𐤔𐤅 vayaasu And they did HC/Vqw3mp כֵ֗ן 𐤊𐤍 khen so HD וַ/יֵּט֩ 𐤅/𐤉𐤈 vayet and stretched out HC/Vqw3ms אַהֲרֹ֨ן 𐤀𐤄𐤓𐤍 aharon Aaron HNp אֶת 𐤀𐤕 et [direct object marker] HTo יָד֤/וֹ 𐤉𐤃/𐤅 yado his hand HNcbsc/Sp3ms בְ/מַטֵּ֨/הוּ֙ 𐤁/𐤌𐤈/𐤄𐤅 vematehu with his staff HR/Ncmsc/Sp3ms וַ/יַּךְ֙ 𐤅/𐤉𐤊 vayakhe and struck HC/Vhw3ms אֶת 𐤀𐤕 et-2 [direct object marker] HTo עֲפַ֣ר 𐤏𐤐𐤓 afar the dust of HNcmsc הָ/אָ֔רֶץ 𐤄/𐤀𐤓𐤑 haarets the earth HTd/Ncbsa וַ/תְּהִי֙ 𐤅/𐤕𐤄𐤉 vatehi and there were HC/Vqw3fs הַ/כִּנָּ֔ם 𐤄/𐤊𐤍𐤌 hakinam gnats HTd/Ncmsa בָּ/אָדָ֖ם 𐤁/𐤀𐤃𐤌 baadam on man HRd/Ncmsa וּ/בַ/בְּהֵמָ֑ה 𐤅/𐤁/𐤁𐤄𐤌𐤄 uvabehemah and on beast HC/Rd/Ncfsa כָּל 𐤊𐤋 kal all HNcmsc עֲפַ֥ר 𐤏𐤐𐤓 afar-2 the dust of HNcmsc הָ/אָ֛רֶץ 𐤄/𐤀𐤓𐤑 haarets-2 the earth HTd/Ncbsa הָיָ֥ה 𐤄𐤉𐤄 hayah became HVqp3ms כִנִּ֖ים 𐤊𐤍𐤉𐤌 khinim gnats HNcmpa בְּ/כָל 𐤁/𐤊𐤋 bekhal in all HR/Ncmsc אֶ֥רֶץ 𐤀𐤓𐤑 erets the land of HNcbsc מִצְרָֽיִם 𐤌𐤑𐤓𐤉𐤌 mitserayim Egypt HNp

And did likewise the magicians with their secret arts to bring forth [direct object marker] the gnats but they could not they were able so there were gnats on man and on beast

14 וַ/יַּעֲשׂוּ 𐤅/𐤉𐤏𐤔𐤅 vayaasu And did HC/Vqw3mp כֵ֨ן 𐤊𐤍 khen likewise HD הַ/חַרְטֻמִּ֧ים 𐤄/𐤇𐤓𐤈𐤌𐤉𐤌 hacharetumim the magicians HTd/Ncmpa בְּ/לָטֵי/הֶ֛ם 𐤁/𐤋𐤈𐤉/𐤄𐤌 belateyhem with their secret arts HR/Ncmpc/Sp3mp לְ/הוֹצִ֥יא 𐤋/𐤄𐤅𐤑𐤉𐤀 lehotsi to bring forth HR/Vhc אֶת 𐤀𐤕 et [direct object marker] HTo הַ/כִּנִּ֖ים 𐤄/𐤊𐤍𐤉𐤌 hakinim the gnats HTd/Ncmpa וְ/לֹ֣א 𐤅/𐤋𐤀 velo but they could not HC/Tn יָכֹ֑לוּ 𐤉𐤊𐤋𐤅 yakholu they were able HVqp3cp וַ/תְּהִי֙ 𐤅/𐤕𐤄𐤉 vatehi so there were HC/Vqw3fs הַ/כִּנָּ֔ם 𐤄/𐤊𐤍𐤌 hakinam gnats HTd/Ncmsa בָּ/אָדָ֖ם 𐤁/𐤀𐤃𐤌 baadam on man HRd/Ncmsa וּ/בַ/בְּהֵמָֽה 𐤅/𐤁/𐤁𐤄𐤌𐤄 uvabehemah and on beast HC/Rd/Ncfsa

Then said the magicians to Pharaoh The finger of God this is But was strong the heart of Pharaoh and he did not listen to them just as had spoken YHWH

And did YHWH so and there came a swarm of flies severe into the house of Pharaoh and into the houses of his servants and in all the land of Egypt was ruined the land because of the swarms of flies

Then called Pharaoh for Moses and for Aaron and said Go sacrifice to your God in the land

And said Moses It is not right to do so for the abomination of the Egyptians we would sacrifice to YHWH our God If we sacrifice [direct object marker] the abomination of the Egyptians before their eyes will they not stone us

A journey of three days we will go into the wilderness and sacrifice to YHWH our God as he tells us

And said Moses Behold I am going out from you and I will plead to YHWH that may depart the swarms of flies from Pharaoh from his servants and from his people tomorrow only let not again Pharaoh deal deceitfully by not letting go [direct object marker] the people to sacrifice to YHWH

And went out Moses from the presence of Pharaoh and pleaded to YHWH

And did YHWH according to the word of Moses and he removed the swarms of flies from Pharaoh from his servants and from his people not one remained one
