Exodus 7

Then said YHWH to Moses See I have made you as God to Pharaoh and Aaron your brother shall be your prophet

1 וַ/יֹּ֤אמֶר 𐤅/𐤉𐤀𐤌𐤓 vayomer Then said HC/Vqw3ms יְהוָה֙ 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 yehvah Nyambe (Lozi) YHWH HNp אֶל 𐤀𐤋 el to HR מֹשֶׁ֔ה 𐤌𐤔𐤄 mosheh Moses HNp רְאֵ֛ה 𐤓𐤀𐤄 reeh See HVqv2ms נְתַתִּ֥י/ךָ 𐤍𐤕𐤕𐤉/𐤊 netatikha I have made you HVqp1cs/Sp2ms אֱלֹהִ֖ים 𐤀𐤋𐤄𐤉𐤌 elohim Mulimu (Lozi) as God HNcmpa לְ/פַרְעֹ֑ה 𐤋/𐤐𐤓𐤏𐤄 lefareoh to Pharaoh HR/Np וְ/אַהֲרֹ֥ן 𐤅/𐤀𐤄𐤓𐤍 veaharon and Aaron HC/Np אָחִ֖י/ךָ 𐤀𐤇𐤉/𐤊 achikha your brother HNcmsc/Sp2ms יִהְיֶ֥ה 𐤉𐤄𐤉𐤄 yiheyeh shall be HVqi3ms נְבִיאֶֽ/ךָ 𐤍𐤁𐤉𐤀/𐤊 neviekha your prophet HNcmsc/Sp2ms

You shall speak [direct object marker] all that I command you and Aaron your brother shall speak to Pharaoh that he let go [direct object marker] the children of Israel out of his land

2 אַתָּ֣ה 𐤀𐤕𐤄 atah You HPp2ms תְדַבֵּ֔ר 𐤕𐤃𐤁𐤓 tedaber shall speak HVpi2ms אֵ֖ת 𐤀𐤕 et [direct object marker] HTo כָּל 𐤊𐤋 kal all HNcmsc אֲשֶׁ֣ר 𐤀𐤔𐤓 asher that HTr אֲצַוֶּ֑/ךָּ 𐤀𐤑𐤅/𐤊 atsavekha I command you HVpi1cs/Sp2ms וְ/אַהֲרֹ֤ן 𐤅/𐤀𐤄𐤓𐤍 veaharon and Aaron HC/Np אָחִ֨י/ךָ֙ 𐤀𐤇𐤉/𐤊 achikha your brother HNcmsc/Sp2ms יְדַבֵּ֣ר 𐤉𐤃𐤁𐤓 yedaber shall speak HVpi3ms אֶל 𐤀𐤋 el to HR פַּרְעֹ֔ה 𐤐𐤓𐤏𐤄 pareoh Pharaoh HNp וְ/שִׁלַּ֥ח 𐤅/𐤔𐤋𐤇 veshilach that he let go HC/Vpq3ms אֶת 𐤀𐤕 et-2 [direct object marker] HTo בְּנֵֽי 𐤁𐤍𐤉 beney Bene (Bemba) the children of HNcmpc יִשְׂרָאֵ֖ל 𐤉𐤔𐤓𐤀𐤋 yiserael Israel HNp מֵ/אַרְצֽ/וֹ 𐤌/𐤀𐤓𐤑/𐤅 mearetso out of his land HR/Ncbsc/Sp3ms

And I will harden [direct object marker] the heart of Pharaoh and multiply [direct object marker] my signs and [direct object marker] my wonders in the land of Egypt

3 וַ/אֲנִ֥י 𐤅/𐤀𐤍𐤉 vaani And I HC/Pp1cs אַקְשֶׁ֖ה 𐤀𐤒𐤔𐤄 aqesheh will harden HVhi1cs אֶת 𐤀𐤕 et [direct object marker] HTo לֵ֣ב 𐤋𐤁 lev the heart of HNcmsc פַּרְעֹ֑ה 𐤐𐤓𐤏𐤄 pareoh Pharaoh HNp וְ/הִרְבֵּיתִ֧י 𐤅/𐤄𐤓𐤁𐤉𐤕𐤉 vehirebeyti and multiply HC/Vhq1cs אֶת 𐤀𐤕 et-2 [direct object marker] HTo אֹתֹתַ֛/י 𐤀𐤕𐤕/𐤉 ototay my signs HNcbpc/Sp1cs וְ/אֶת 𐤅/𐤀𐤕 veet and [direct object marker] HC/To מוֹפְתַ֖/י 𐤌𐤅𐤐𐤕/𐤉 mofetay my wonders HNcmpc/Sp1cs בְּ/אֶ֥רֶץ 𐤁/𐤀𐤓𐤑 beerets in the land of HR/Ncbsc מִצְרָֽיִם 𐤌𐤑𐤓𐤉𐤌 mitserayim Egypt HNp

And not will listen to you Pharaoh then I will lay [direct object marker] my hand on Egypt and bring out [direct object marker] my hosts [direct object marker] my people the children of Israel from the land of Egypt by great judgments great

4 וְ/לֹֽא 𐤅/𐤋𐤀 velo And not HC/Tn יִשְׁמַ֤ע 𐤉𐤔𐤌𐤏 yishema will listen HVqi3ms אֲלֵ/כֶם֙ 𐤀𐤋/𐤊𐤌 alekhem to you HR/Sp2mp פַּרְעֹ֔ה 𐤐𐤓𐤏𐤄 pareoh Pharaoh HNp וְ/נָתַתִּ֥י 𐤅/𐤍𐤕𐤕𐤉 venatati then I will lay HC/Vqq1cs אֶת 𐤀𐤕 et [direct object marker] HTo יָדִ֖/י 𐤉𐤃/𐤉 yadi my hand HNcbsc/Sp1cs בְּ/מִצְרָ֑יִם 𐤁/𐤌𐤑𐤓𐤉𐤌 bemitserayim on Egypt HR/Np וְ/הוֹצֵאתִ֨י 𐤅/𐤄𐤅𐤑𐤀𐤕𐤉 vehotseti and bring out HC/Vhq1cs אֶת 𐤀𐤕 et-2 [direct object marker] HTo צִבְאֹתַ֜/י 𐤑𐤁𐤀𐤕/𐤉 tsiveotay my hosts HNcbpc/Sp1cs אֶת 𐤀𐤕 et-3 [direct object marker] HTo עַמִּ֤/י 𐤏𐤌/𐤉 ami my people HNcmsc/Sp1cs בְנֵֽי 𐤁𐤍𐤉 veney Bene (Bemba) the children of HNcmpc יִשְׂרָאֵל֙ 𐤉𐤔𐤓𐤀𐤋 yiserael Israel HNp מֵ/אֶ֣רֶץ 𐤌/𐤀𐤓𐤑 meerets from the land of HR/Ncbsc מִצְרַ֔יִם 𐤌𐤑𐤓𐤉𐤌 mitserayim Egypt HNp בִּ/שְׁפָטִ֖ים 𐤁/𐤔𐤐𐤈𐤉𐤌 bishefatim by great judgments HR/Ncmpa גְּדֹלִֽים 𐤂𐤃𐤋𐤉𐤌 gedolim great HAampa

And shall know the Egyptians that I am YHWH when I stretch out [direct object marker] my hand against Egypt and bring out [direct object marker] the children of Israel from among them

5 וְ/יָדְע֤וּ 𐤅/𐤉𐤃𐤏𐤅 veyadeu And shall know HC/Vqq3cp מִצְרַ֨יִם֙ 𐤌𐤑𐤓𐤉𐤌 mitserayim the Egyptians HNp כִּֽי 𐤊𐤉 ki that HC אֲנִ֣י 𐤀𐤍𐤉 ani I am HPp1cs יְהוָ֔ה 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 yehvah Nyambe (Lozi) YHWH HNp בִּ/נְטֹתִ֥/י 𐤁/𐤍𐤈𐤕/𐤉 binetoti when I stretch out HR/Vqc/Sp1cs אֶת 𐤀𐤕 et [direct object marker] HTo יָדִ֖/י 𐤉𐤃/𐤉 yadi my hand HNcbsc/Sp1cs עַל 𐤏𐤋 al against HR מִצְרָ֑יִם 𐤌𐤑𐤓𐤉𐤌 mitserayim-2 Egypt HNp וְ/הוֹצֵאתִ֥י 𐤅/𐤄𐤅𐤑𐤀𐤕𐤉 vehotseti and bring out HC/Vhq1cs אֶת 𐤀𐤕 et-2 [direct object marker] HTo בְּנֵֽי 𐤁𐤍𐤉 beney Bene (Bemba) the children of HNcmpc יִשְׂרָאֵ֖ל 𐤉𐤔𐤓𐤀𐤋 yiserael Israel HNp מִ/תּוֹכָֽ/ם 𐤌/𐤕𐤅𐤊/𐤌 mitokham from among them HR/Ncmsc/Sp3mp

And did Moses and Aaron just as commanded YHWH them so they did

6 וַ/יַּ֥עַשׂ 𐤅/𐤉𐤏𐤔 vayaas And did HC/Vqw3ms מֹשֶׁ֖ה 𐤌𐤔𐤄 mosheh Moses HNp וְ/אַהֲרֹ֑ן 𐤅/𐤀𐤄𐤓𐤍 veaharon and Aaron HC/Np כַּ/אֲשֶׁ֨ר 𐤊/𐤀𐤔𐤓 kaasher just as HR/Tr צִוָּ֧ה 𐤑𐤅𐤄 tsivah commanded HVpp3ms יְהוָ֛ה 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 yehvah Nyambe (Lozi) YHWH HNp אֹתָ֖/ם 𐤀𐤕/𐤌 otam them HTo/Sp3mp כֵּ֥ן 𐤊𐤍 ken so HTm עָשֽׂוּ 𐤏𐤔𐤅 asu they did HVqp3cp

And Moses was a son of eighty years old and Aaron was a son of three and eighty years old when they spoke to Pharaoh

7 וּ/מֹשֶׁה֙ 𐤅/𐤌𐤔𐤄 umosheh And Moses HC/Np בֶּן 𐤁𐤍 ben Bene (Bemba) was a son of HNcmsc שְׁמֹנִ֣ים 𐤔𐤌𐤍𐤉𐤌 shemonim eighty HAcbpa שָׁנָ֔ה 𐤔𐤍𐤄 shanah years old HNcfsa וְ/אַֽהֲרֹ֔ן 𐤅/𐤀𐤄𐤓𐤍 veaharon and Aaron HC/Np בֶּן 𐤁𐤍 ben-2 Bene (Bemba) was a son of HNcmsc שָׁלֹ֥שׁ 𐤔𐤋𐤔 shalosh three HAcfsa וּ/שְׁמֹנִ֖ים 𐤅/𐤔𐤌𐤍𐤉𐤌 ushemonim and eighty HC/Acbpa שָׁנָ֑ה 𐤔𐤍𐤄 shanah-2 years old HNcfsa בְּ/דַבְּרָ֖/ם 𐤁/𐤃𐤁𐤓/𐤌 bedaberam when they spoke HR/Vpc/Sp3mp אֶל 𐤀𐤋 el to HR פַּרְעֹֽה 𐤐𐤓𐤏𐤄 pareoh Pharaoh HNp

And spoke YHWH to Moses and to Aaron saying

8 וַ/יֹּ֣אמֶר 𐤅/𐤉𐤀𐤌𐤓 vayomer And spoke HC/Vqw3ms יְהוָ֔ה 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 yehvah Nyambe (Lozi) YHWH HNp אֶל 𐤀𐤋 el to HR מֹשֶׁ֥ה 𐤌𐤔𐤄 mosheh Moses HNp וְ/אֶֽל 𐤅/𐤀𐤋 veel and to HC/R אַהֲרֹ֖ן 𐤀𐤄𐤓𐤍 aharon Aaron HNp לֵ/אמֹֽר 𐤋/𐤀𐤌𐤓 lemor saying HR/Vqc

When speaks to you Pharaoh saying Show for yourselves a miracle then you shall say to Aaron Take [direct object marker] your staff and cast it before Pharaoh and it will become a serpent

9 כִּי֩ 𐤊𐤉 ki When HC יְדַבֵּ֨ר 𐤉𐤃𐤁𐤓 yedaber speaks HVpi3ms אֲלֵ/כֶ֤ם 𐤀𐤋/𐤊𐤌 alekhem to you HR/Sp2mp פַּרְעֹה֙ 𐤐𐤓𐤏𐤄 pareoh Pharaoh HNp לֵ/אמֹ֔ר 𐤋/𐤀𐤌𐤓 lemor saying HR/Vqc תְּנ֥וּ 𐤕𐤍𐤅 tenu Show HVqv2mp לָ/כֶ֖ם 𐤋/𐤊𐤌 lakhem for yourselves HR/Sp2mp מוֹפֵ֑ת 𐤌𐤅𐤐𐤕 mofet a miracle HNcmsa וְ/אָמַרְתָּ֣ 𐤅/𐤀𐤌𐤓𐤕 veamareta then you shall say HC/Vqq2ms אֶֽל 𐤀𐤋 el to HR אַהֲרֹ֗ן 𐤀𐤄𐤓𐤍 aharon Aaron HNp קַ֧ח 𐤒𐤇 qach Take HVqv2ms אֶֽת 𐤀𐤕 et [direct object marker] HTo מַטְּ/ךָ֛ 𐤌𐤈/𐤊 matekha your staff HNcmsc/Sp2ms וְ/הַשְׁלֵ֥ךְ 𐤅/𐤄𐤔𐤋𐤊 vehashelekhe and cast it HC/Vhv2ms לִ/פְנֵֽי 𐤋/𐤐𐤍𐤉 lifeney before HR/Ncbpc פַרְעֹ֖ה 𐤐𐤓𐤏𐤄 fareoh Pharaoh HNp יְהִ֥י 𐤉𐤄𐤉 yehi and it will become HVqj3ms לְ/תַנִּֽין 𐤋/𐤕𐤍𐤉𐤍 letanin a serpent HR/Ncmsa

And went Moses and Aaron to Pharaoh and they did so just as commanded YHWH and cast down Aaron [direct object marker] his staff before Pharaoh and before his servants and it became a serpent

10 וַ/יָּבֹ֨א 𐤅/𐤉𐤁𐤀 vayavo And went HC/Vqw3ms מֹשֶׁ֤ה 𐤌𐤔𐤄 mosheh Moses HNp וְ/אַהֲרֹן֙ 𐤅/𐤀𐤄𐤓𐤍 veaharon and Aaron HC/Np אֶל 𐤀𐤋 el to HR פַּרְעֹ֔ה 𐤐𐤓𐤏𐤄 pareoh Pharaoh HNp וַ/יַּ֣עַשׂוּ 𐤅/𐤉𐤏𐤔𐤅 vayaasu and they did HC/Vqw3mp כֵ֔ן 𐤊𐤍 khen so HD כַּ/אֲשֶׁ֖ר 𐤊/𐤀𐤔𐤓 kaasher just as HR/Tr צִוָּ֣ה 𐤑𐤅𐤄 tsivah commanded HVpp3ms יְהוָ֑ה 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 yehvah Nyambe (Lozi) YHWH HNp וַ/יַּשְׁלֵ֨ךְ 𐤅/𐤉𐤔𐤋𐤊 vayashelekhe and cast down HC/Vhw3ms אַהֲרֹ֜ן 𐤀𐤄𐤓𐤍 aharon Aaron HNp אֶת 𐤀𐤕 et [direct object marker] HTo מַטֵּ֗/הוּ 𐤌𐤈/𐤄𐤅 matehu his staff HNcmsc/Sp3ms לִ/פְנֵ֥י 𐤋/𐤐𐤍𐤉 lifeney before HR/Ncbpc פַרְעֹ֛ה 𐤐𐤓𐤏𐤄 fareoh Pharaoh HNp וְ/לִ/פְנֵ֥י 𐤅/𐤋/𐤐𐤍𐤉 velifeney and before HC/R/Ncbpc עֲבָדָ֖י/ו 𐤏𐤁𐤃𐤉/𐤅 avadayv his servants HNcmpc/Sp3ms וַ/יְהִ֥י 𐤅/𐤉𐤄𐤉 vayehi and it became HC/Vqw3ms לְ/תַנִּֽין 𐤋/𐤕𐤍𐤉𐤍 letanin a serpent HR/Ncmsa

Then called also Pharaoh for the wise men and the sorcerers and did also they the magicians of Egypt with their enchantments the same

11 וַ/יִּקְרָא֙ 𐤅/𐤉𐤒𐤓𐤀 vayiqera Then called HC/Vqw3ms גַּם 𐤂𐤌 gam also HTa פַּרְעֹ֔ה 𐤐𐤓𐤏𐤄 pareoh Pharaoh HNp לַֽ/חֲכָמִ֖ים 𐤋/𐤇𐤊𐤌𐤉𐤌 lachakhamim for the wise men HRd/Aampa וְ/לַֽ/מְכַשְּׁפִ֑ים 𐤅/𐤋/𐤌𐤊𐤔𐤐𐤉𐤌 velamekhashefim and the sorcerers HC/Rd/Vprmpa וַ/יַּֽעֲשׂ֨וּ 𐤅/𐤉𐤏𐤔𐤅 vayaasu and did HC/Vqw3mp גַם 𐤂𐤌 gam-2 also HD הֵ֜ם 𐤄𐤌 hem they HPp3mp חַרְטֻמֵּ֥י 𐤇𐤓𐤈𐤌𐤉 charetumey the magicians of HNcmpc מִצְרַ֛יִם 𐤌𐤑𐤓𐤉𐤌 mitserayim Egypt HNp בְּ/לַהֲטֵי/הֶ֖ם 𐤁/𐤋𐤄𐤈𐤉/𐤄𐤌 belahateyhem with their enchantments HR/Ncmpc/Sp3mp כֵּֽן 𐤊𐤍 ken the same HTm

For they cast down each man his staff and they became serpents but swallowed up the staff of Aaron [direct object marker] their staffs

12 וַ/יַּשְׁלִ֨יכוּ֙ 𐤅/𐤉𐤔𐤋𐤉𐤊𐤅 vayashelikhu For they cast down HC/Vhw3mp אִ֣ישׁ 𐤀𐤉𐤔 ish each man HNcmsa מַטֵּ֔/הוּ 𐤌𐤈/𐤄𐤅 matehu his staff HNcmsc/Sp3ms וַ/יִּהְי֖וּ 𐤅/𐤉𐤄𐤉𐤅 vayiheyu and they became HC/Vqw3mp לְ/תַנִּינִ֑ם 𐤋/𐤕𐤍𐤉𐤍𐤌 letaninim serpents HR/Ncmpa וַ/יִּבְלַ֥ע 𐤅/𐤉𐤁𐤋𐤏 vayivela but swallowed up HC/Vqw3ms מַטֵּֽה 𐤌𐤈𐤄 mateh the staff of HNcmsc אַהֲרֹ֖ן 𐤀𐤄𐤓𐤍 aharon Aaron HNp אֶת 𐤀𐤕 et [direct object marker] HTo מַטֹּתָֽ/ם 𐤌𐤈𐤕/𐤌 matotam their staffs HNcmpc/Sp3mp

And was hardened the heart of Pharaoh and not did he listen to them just as had spoken YHWH

13 וַ/יֶּחֱזַק֙ 𐤅/𐤉𐤇𐤆𐤒 vayechezaq And was hardened HC/Vqw3ms לֵ֣ב 𐤋𐤁 lev the heart of HNcmsc פַּרְעֹ֔ה 𐤐𐤓𐤏𐤄 pareoh Pharaoh HNp וְ/לֹ֥א 𐤅/𐤋𐤀 velo and not HC/Tn שָׁמַ֖ע 𐤔𐤌𐤏 shama did he listen HVqp3ms אֲלֵ/הֶ֑ם 𐤀𐤋/𐤄𐤌 alehem to them HR/Sp3mp כַּ/אֲשֶׁ֖ר 𐤊/𐤀𐤔𐤓 kaasher just as HR/Tr דִּבֶּ֥ר 𐤃𐤁𐤓 diber had spoken HVpp3ms יְהוָֽה 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 yehvah Nyambe (Lozi) YHWH HNp

Then said YHWH to Moses is hard the heart of Pharaoh he refuses to let go the people

14 וַ/יֹּ֤אמֶר 𐤅/𐤉𐤀𐤌𐤓 vayomer Then said HC/Vqw3ms יְהוָה֙ 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 yehvah Nyambe (Lozi) YHWH HNp אֶל 𐤀𐤋 el to HR מֹשֶׁ֔ה 𐤌𐤔𐤄 mosheh Moses HNp כָּבֵ֖ד 𐤊𐤁𐤃 kaved is hard HAamsa לֵ֣ב 𐤋𐤁 lev the heart of HNcmsc פַּרְעֹ֑ה 𐤐𐤓𐤏𐤄 pareoh Pharaoh HNp מֵאֵ֖ן 𐤌𐤀𐤍 meen he refuses HVpp3ms לְ/שַׁלַּ֥ח 𐤋/𐤔𐤋𐤇 leshalach to let go HR/Vpc הָ/עָֽם 𐤄/𐤏𐤌 haam the people HTd/Ncmsa

Go to Pharaoh in the morning behold he is going out to the water and you shall stand to meet him on the bank of the Nile and the staff which was turned into a serpent you shall take in your hand

15 לֵ֣ךְ 𐤋𐤊 lekhe Go HVqv2ms אֶל 𐤀𐤋 el to HR פַּרְעֹ֞ה 𐤐𐤓𐤏𐤄 pareoh Pharaoh HNp בַּ/בֹּ֗קֶר 𐤁/𐤁𐤒𐤓 baboqer in the morning HRd/Ncmsa הִנֵּה֙ 𐤄𐤍𐤄 hineh behold HTm יֹצֵ֣א 𐤉𐤑𐤀 yotse he is going out HVqrmsa הַ/מַּ֔יְמָ/ה 𐤄/𐤌𐤉𐤌/𐤄 hamayemah Amanzi (Zulu) to the water HTd/Ncmpa/Sd וְ/נִצַּבְתָּ֥ 𐤅/𐤍𐤑𐤁𐤕 venitsaveta and you shall stand HC/VNq2ms לִ/קְרָאת֖/וֹ 𐤋/𐤒𐤓𐤀𐤕/𐤅 liqerato to meet him HR/Vqc/Sp3ms עַל 𐤏𐤋 al on HR שְׂפַ֣ת 𐤔𐤐𐤕 sefat the bank of HNcfsc הַ/יְאֹ֑ר 𐤄/𐤉𐤀𐤓 hayeor the Nile HTd/Np וְ/הַ/מַּטֶּ֛ה 𐤅/𐤄/𐤌𐤈𐤄 vehamateh and the staff HC/Td/Ncmsa אֲשֶׁר 𐤀𐤔𐤓 asher which HTr נֶהְפַּ֥ךְ 𐤍𐤄𐤐𐤊 nehepakhe was turned HVNp3ms לְ/נָחָ֖שׁ 𐤋/𐤍𐤇𐤔 lenachash into a serpent HR/Ncmsa תִּקַּ֥ח 𐤕𐤒𐤇 tiqach you shall take HVqi2ms בְּ/יָדֶֽ/ךָ 𐤁/𐤉𐤃/𐤊 beyadekha in your hand HR/Ncbsc/Sp2ms

And you shall say to him YHWH the God of the Hebrews has sent me to you saying Let go [direct object marker] my people that they may serve me in the wilderness and behold not you have listened until now
