2 Samuel 21

A three-year famine afflicts Israel because Saul violated a covenant with the Gibeonites by attempting to destroy them; David resolves the bloodguilt by delivering seven of Saul's descendants to the Gibeonites for execution, after which the famine ends and Israel defeats the Philistines in subsequent battles.

and he called the king to the Gibeonites and he said to them and the Gibeonites not of the sons of Israel they for if a remnant of the Amorites and the sons of Israel had sworn to them and he sought Saul to strike them in his zeal for for the sons of Israel and Judah

and he gave them into the hand of the Gibeonites and they impaled them on the hill before YHWH and they fell seven of them together and they and they were put to death in the days of harvest first beginning at the beginning of harvest of barley

and took Rizpah the daughter of Aiah (direct object marker) the sackcloth and spread it for herself upon the rock from the beginning of harvest until water dropped water upon them from the heavens and not did she allow the birds of the heavens to rest on them by day and the beasts of the field by night

and went David and took the bones Saul and the bones Jonathan his son from men of Jabesh Gilead who had stolen them from the street of Beth shan where had hanged them there the Philistines there Philistines on the day struck down the Philistines [direct object marker] Saul on Gilboa

and they buried the bones of Saul and Jonathan his son in the land of Benjamin in Zela in the grave of Kish his father and they did all that commanded the king and God was entreated God for the land after that

and helped him Abishai son of Zeruiah and struck [direct object marker] the Philistine and killed him then swore men David's to him saying not you shall go out again with us to battle and not you quench [direct object marker] lamp of Israel
