Genesis 48

And it came to pass after the things these and one said to Joseph Behold your father is sick and he took with him two his sons with him the Manasseh and the Ephraim

1 וַ/יְהִ֗י 𐤅/𐤉𐤄𐤉 vayehi And it came to pass HC/Vqw3ms אַחֲרֵי֙ 𐤀𐤇𐤓𐤉 acharey after HR הַ/דְּבָרִ֣ים 𐤄/𐤃𐤁𐤓𐤉𐤌 hadevarim the things HTd/Ncmpa הָ/אֵ֔לֶּה 𐤄/𐤀𐤋𐤄 haeleh these HTd/Pdxcp וַ/יֹּ֣אמֶר 𐤅/𐤉𐤀𐤌𐤓 vayomer and one said HC/Vqw3ms לְ/יוֹסֵ֔ף 𐤋/𐤉𐤅𐤎𐤐 leyosef to Joseph HR/Np הִנֵּ֥ה 𐤄𐤍𐤄 hineh Behold HTm אָבִ֖י/ךָ 𐤀𐤁𐤉/𐤊 avikha your father HNcmsc/Sp2ms חֹלֶ֑ה 𐤇𐤋𐤄 choleh is sick HVqrmsa וַ/יִּקַּ֞ח 𐤅/𐤉𐤒𐤇 vayiqach and he took HC/Vqw3ms אֶת 𐤀𐤕 et with him HTo שְׁנֵ֤י 𐤔𐤍𐤉 sheney two HAcmdc בָנָי/ו֙ 𐤁𐤍𐤉/𐤅 vanayv Bene (Bemba) his sons HNcmpc/Sp3ms עִמּ֔/וֹ 𐤏𐤌/𐤅 imo with him HR/Sp3ms אֶת 𐤀𐤕 et-2 the HTo מְנַשֶּׁ֖ה 𐤌𐤍𐤔𐤄 menasheh Manasseh HNp וְ/אֶת 𐤅/𐤀𐤕 veet and the HC/To אֶפְרָֽיִם 𐤀𐤐𐤓𐤉𐤌 eferayim Ephraim HNp

And it was told to Jacob and said Behold your son Joseph has come to you Then Israel strengthened himself and sat up on the bed

2 וַ/יַּגֵּ֣ד 𐤅/𐤉𐤂𐤃 vayaged And it was told HC/Vhw3ms לְ/יַעֲקֹ֔ב 𐤋/𐤉𐤏𐤒𐤁 leyaaqov to Jacob HR/Np וַ/יֹּ֕אמֶר 𐤅/𐤉𐤀𐤌𐤓 vayomer and said HC/Vqw3ms הִנֵּ֛ה 𐤄𐤍𐤄 hineh Behold HTm בִּנְ/ךָ֥ 𐤁𐤍/𐤊 binekha Bene (Bemba) your son HNcmsc/Sp2ms יוֹסֵ֖ף 𐤉𐤅𐤎𐤐 yosef Joseph HNp בָּ֣א 𐤁𐤀 ba has come HVqrmsa אֵלֶ֑י/ךָ 𐤀𐤋𐤉/𐤊 eleykha to you HR/Sp2ms וַ/יִּתְחַזֵּק֙ 𐤅/𐤉𐤕𐤇𐤆𐤒 vayitechazeq Then Israel strengthened himself HC/Vtw3ms יִשְׂרָאֵ֔ל 𐤉𐤔𐤓𐤀𐤋 yiserael HNp וַ/יֵּ֖שֶׁב 𐤅/𐤉𐤔𐤁 vayeshev and sat up HC/Vqw3ms עַל 𐤏𐤋 al on HR הַ/מִּטָּֽה 𐤄/𐤌𐤈𐤄 hamitah the bed HTd/Ncfsa

and he said Jacob to Joseph God Almighty appeared to me at Luz in the land of Canaan and he blessed me

3 וַ/יֹּ֤אמֶר 𐤅/𐤉𐤀𐤌𐤓 vayomer and he said HC/Vqw3ms יַעֲקֹב֙ 𐤉𐤏𐤒𐤁 yaaqov Jacob HNp אֶל 𐤀𐤋 el to HR יוֹסֵ֔ף 𐤉𐤅𐤎𐤐 yosef Joseph HNp אֵ֥ל 𐤀𐤋 el-2 God HNcmsc שַׁדַּ֛י 𐤔𐤃𐤉 shaday Almighty HNp נִרְאָֽה 𐤍𐤓𐤀𐤄 nireah appeared HVNp3ms אֵלַ֥/י 𐤀𐤋/𐤉 elay to me HR/Sp1cs בְּ/ל֖וּז 𐤁/𐤋𐤅𐤆 beluz at Luz HR/Np בְּ/אֶ֣רֶץ 𐤁/𐤀𐤓𐤑 beerets in the land HR/Ncbsc כְּנָ֑עַן 𐤊𐤍𐤏𐤍 kenaan of Canaan HNp וַ/יְבָ֖רֶךְ 𐤅/𐤉𐤁𐤓𐤊 vayevarekhe and he blessed HC/Vpw3ms אֹתִֽ/י 𐤀𐤕/𐤉 oti me HTo/Sp1cs

and said to me Behold, I will make you fruitful and multiply you and I will make you a company of peoples and will give (direct object marker) the land this to your seed after you possession everlasting

4 וַ/יֹּ֣אמֶר 𐤅/𐤉𐤀𐤌𐤓 vayomer and said HC/Vqw3ms אֵלַ֗/י 𐤀𐤋/𐤉 elay to me HR/Sp1cs הִנְ/נִ֤י 𐤄𐤍/𐤍𐤉 hineni Behold, I HTm/Sp1cs מַפְרְ/ךָ֙ 𐤌𐤐𐤓/𐤊 maferekha will make you fruitful HVhrmsc/Sp2ms וְ/הִרְבִּיתִ֔/ךָ 𐤅/𐤄𐤓𐤁𐤉𐤕/𐤊 vehirebitikha and multiply you HC/Vhq1cs/Sp2ms וּ/נְתַתִּ֖י/ךָ 𐤅/𐤍𐤕𐤕𐤉/𐤊 unetatikha and I will make you HC/Vqq1cs/Sp2ms לִ/קְהַ֣ל 𐤋/𐤒𐤄𐤋 liqehal a company HR/Ncmsc עַמִּ֑ים 𐤏𐤌𐤉𐤌 amim of peoples HNcmpa וְ/נָ֨תַתִּ֜י 𐤅/𐤍𐤕𐤕𐤉 venatati and will give HC/Vqq1cs אֶת 𐤀𐤕 et (direct object marker) HTo הָ/אָ֧רֶץ 𐤄/𐤀𐤓𐤑 haarets the land HTd/Ncbsa הַ/זֹּ֛את 𐤄/𐤆𐤀𐤕 hazot this HTd/Pdxfs לְ/זַרְעֲ/ךָ֥ 𐤋/𐤆𐤓𐤏/𐤊 lezareakha to your seed HR/Ncmsc/Sp2ms אַחֲרֶ֖י/ךָ 𐤀𐤇𐤓𐤉/𐤊 achareykha after you HR/Sp2ms אֲחֻזַּ֥ת 𐤀𐤇𐤆𐤕 achuzat possession HNcfsc עוֹלָֽם 𐤏𐤅𐤋𐤌 olam everlasting HNcmsa

And now your two sons who were born to you in the land of Egypt before I came to you to Egypt mine they Ephraim and Manasseh as Reuben and Simeon shall be mine

5 וְ/עַתָּ֡ה 𐤅/𐤏𐤕𐤄 veatah And now HC/D שְׁנֵֽי 𐤔𐤍𐤉 sheney your two HAcmdc בָנֶי/ךָ֩ 𐤁𐤍𐤉/𐤊 vaneykha Bene (Bemba) sons HNcmpc/Sp2ms הַ/נּוֹלָדִ֨ים 𐤄/𐤍𐤅𐤋𐤃𐤉𐤌 hanoladim who were born HTd/VNrmpa לְ/ךָ֜ 𐤋/𐤊 lekha to you HR/Sp2ms בְּ/אֶ֣רֶץ 𐤁/𐤀𐤓𐤑 beerets in the land HR/Ncbsc מִצְרַ֗יִם 𐤌𐤑𐤓𐤉𐤌 mitserayim of Egypt HNp עַד 𐤏𐤃 ad before HR בֹּאִ֥/י 𐤁𐤀/𐤉 boi I came HVqc/Sp1cs אֵלֶ֛י/ךָ 𐤀𐤋𐤉/𐤊 eleykha to you HR/Sp2ms מִצְרַ֖יְמָ/ה 𐤌𐤑𐤓𐤉𐤌/𐤄 mitserayemah to Egypt HNp/Sd לִ/י 𐤋/𐤉 li mine HR/Sp1cs הֵ֑ם 𐤄𐤌 hem they HPp3mp אֶפְרַ֨יִם֙ 𐤀𐤐𐤓𐤉𐤌 eferayim Ephraim HNp וּ/מְנַשֶּׁ֔ה 𐤅/𐤌𐤍𐤔𐤄 umenasheh and Manasseh HC/Np כִּ/רְאוּבֵ֥ן 𐤊/𐤓𐤀𐤅𐤁𐤍 kireuven as Reuben HR/Np וְ/שִׁמְע֖וֹן 𐤅/𐤔𐤌𐤏𐤅𐤍 veshimeon and Simeon HC/Np יִֽהְיוּ 𐤉𐤄𐤉𐤅 yiheyu shall be HVqi3mp לִֽ/י 𐤋/𐤉 li-2 mine HR/Sp1cs

But your offspring that you have fathered after them shall be yours they shall be by the name of their brothers shall be called in their inheritance

6 וּ/מוֹלַדְתְּ/ךָ֛ 𐤅/𐤌𐤅𐤋𐤃𐤕/𐤊 umoladetekha But your offspring HC/Ncfsc/Sp2ms אֲשֶׁר 𐤀𐤔𐤓 asher that HTr הוֹלַ֥דְתָּ 𐤄𐤅𐤋𐤃𐤕 holadeta you have fathered HVhp2ms אַחֲרֵי/הֶ֖ם 𐤀𐤇𐤓𐤉/𐤄𐤌 achareyhem after them HR/Sp3mp לְ/ךָ֣ 𐤋/𐤊 lekha shall be yours HR/Sp2ms יִהְי֑וּ 𐤉𐤄𐤉𐤅 yiheyu they shall be HVqi3mp עַ֣ל 𐤏𐤋 al by HR שֵׁ֧ם 𐤔𐤌 shem the name HNcmsc אֲחֵי/הֶ֛ם 𐤀𐤇𐤉/𐤄𐤌 acheyhem of their brothers HNcmpc/Sp3mp יִקָּרְא֖וּ 𐤉𐤒𐤓𐤀𐤅 yiqareu shall be called HVNi3mp בְּ/נַחֲלָתָֽ/ם 𐤁/𐤍𐤇𐤋𐤕/𐤌 benachalatam in their inheritance HR/Ncfsc/Sp3mp

and he saw Israel [direct object marker] the sons Joseph and he said Who are these

8 וַ/יַּ֥רְא 𐤅/𐤉𐤓𐤀 vayare and he saw HC/Vqw3ms יִשְׂרָאֵ֖ל 𐤉𐤔𐤓𐤀𐤋 yiserael Israel HNp אֶת 𐤀𐤕 et [direct object marker] HTo בְּנֵ֣י 𐤁𐤍𐤉 beney Bene (Bemba) the sons HNcmpc יוֹסֵ֑ף 𐤉𐤅𐤎𐤐 yosef Joseph HNp וַ/יֹּ֖אמֶר 𐤅/𐤉𐤀𐤌𐤓 vayomer and he said HC/Vqw3ms מִי 𐤌𐤉 mi Who HTi אֵֽלֶּה 𐤀𐤋𐤄 eleh are these HPdxcp

And he said Joseph to his father My sons they are whom He has given to me God here And he said Take them please to me and I will bless them

9 וַ/יֹּ֤אמֶר 𐤅/𐤉𐤀𐤌𐤓 vayomer And he said HC/Vqw3ms יוֹסֵף֙ 𐤉𐤅𐤎𐤐 yosef Joseph HNp אֶל 𐤀𐤋 el to HR אָבִ֔י/ו 𐤀𐤁𐤉/𐤅 aviv his father HNcmsc/Sp3ms בָּנַ֣/י 𐤁𐤍/𐤉 banay Bene (Bemba) My sons HNcmpc/Sp1cs הֵ֔ם 𐤄𐤌 hem they are HPp3mp אֲשֶׁר 𐤀𐤔𐤓 asher whom HTr נָֽתַן 𐤍𐤕𐤍 natan He has given HVqp3ms לִ֥/י 𐤋/𐤉 li to me HR/Sp1cs אֱלֹהִ֖ים 𐤀𐤋𐤄𐤉𐤌 elohim Mulimu (Lozi) God HNcmpa בָּ/זֶ֑ה 𐤁/𐤆𐤄 bazeh here HR/Pdxms וַ/יֹּאמַ֕ר 𐤅/𐤉𐤀𐤌𐤓 vayomar And he said HC/Vqw3ms קָֽחֶ/ם 𐤒𐤇/𐤌 qachem Take them HVqv2ms/Sp3mp נָ֥א 𐤍𐤀 na please HTe אֵלַ֖/י 𐤀𐤋/𐤉 elay to me HR/Sp1cs וַ/אֲבָרֲכֵֽ/ם 𐤅/𐤀𐤁𐤓𐤊/𐤌 vaavarakhem and I will bless them HC/Vpi1cs/Sp3mp

and the eyes of Israel had become heavy/dim from age not he could to see and he brought near them to him and he kissed them and he embraced them

10 וְ/עֵינֵ֤י 𐤅/𐤏𐤉𐤍𐤉 veeyney and the eyes HC/Ncbdc יִשְׂרָאֵל֙ 𐤉𐤔𐤓𐤀𐤋 yiserael of Israel HNp כָּבְד֣וּ 𐤊𐤁𐤃𐤅 kavedu had become heavy/dim HVqp3cp מִ/זֹּ֔קֶן 𐤌/𐤆𐤒𐤍 mizoqen from age HR/Ncmsa לֹ֥א 𐤋𐤀 lo not HTn יוּכַ֖ל 𐤉𐤅𐤊𐤋 yukhal he could HVqi3ms לִ/רְא֑וֹת 𐤋/𐤓𐤀𐤅𐤕 lireot to see HR/Vqc וַ/יַּגֵּ֤שׁ 𐤅/𐤉𐤂𐤔 vayagesh and he brought near HC/Vhw3ms אֹתָ/ם֙ 𐤀𐤕/𐤌 otam them HTo/Sp3mp אֵלָ֔י/ו 𐤀𐤋𐤉/𐤅 elayv to him HR/Sp3ms וַ/יִּשַּׁ֥ק 𐤅/𐤉𐤔𐤒 vayishaq and he kissed HC/Vqw3ms לָ/הֶ֖ם 𐤋/𐤄𐤌 lahem them HR/Sp3mp וַ/יְחַבֵּ֥ק 𐤅/𐤉𐤇𐤁𐤒 vayechabeq and he embraced HC/Vpw3ms לָ/הֶֽם 𐤋/𐤄𐤌 lahem-2 them HR/Sp3mp

And said Israel to Joseph to see your face not I had thought and behold has shown me God also your offspring

11 וַ/יֹּ֤אמֶר 𐤅/𐤉𐤀𐤌𐤓 vayomer And said HC/Vqw3ms יִשְׂרָאֵל֙ 𐤉𐤔𐤓𐤀𐤋 yiserael Israel HNp אֶל 𐤀𐤋 el to HR יוֹסֵ֔ף 𐤉𐤅𐤎𐤐 yosef Joseph HNp רְאֹ֥ה 𐤓𐤀𐤄 reoh to see HVqc פָנֶ֖י/ךָ 𐤐𐤍𐤉/𐤊 faneykha your face HNcbpc/Sp2ms לֹ֣א 𐤋𐤀 lo not HTn פִלָּ֑לְתִּי 𐤐𐤋𐤋𐤕𐤉 filaleti I had thought HVpp1cs וְ/הִנֵּ֨ה 𐤅/𐤄𐤍𐤄 vehineh and behold HC/Tm הֶרְאָ֥ה 𐤄𐤓𐤀𐤄 hereah has shown HVhp3ms אֹתִ֛/י 𐤀𐤕/𐤉 oti me HTo/Sp1cs אֱלֹהִ֖ים 𐤀𐤋𐤄𐤉𐤌 elohim Mulimu (Lozi) God HNcmpa גַּ֥ם 𐤂𐤌 gam also HTa אֶת 𐤀𐤕 et HTo זַרְעֶֽ/ךָ 𐤆𐤓𐤏/𐤊 zareekha your offspring HNcmsc/Sp2ms

and he brought out Joseph them from beside his knees and he bowed down to his face to the ground

12 וַ/יּוֹצֵ֥א 𐤅/𐤉𐤅𐤑𐤀 vayotse and he brought out HC/Vhw3ms יוֹסֵ֛ף 𐤉𐤅𐤎𐤐 yosef Joseph HNp אֹתָ֖/ם 𐤀𐤕/𐤌 otam them HTo/Sp3mp מֵ/עִ֣ם 𐤌/𐤏𐤌 meim from beside HR/R בִּרְכָּ֑י/ו 𐤁𐤓𐤊𐤉/𐤅 birekayv his knees HNcfdc/Sp3ms וַ/יִּשְׁתַּ֥חוּ 𐤅/𐤉𐤔𐤕𐤇𐤅 vayishetachu and he bowed down HC/Vtw3ms לְ/אַפָּ֖י/ו 𐤋/𐤀𐤐𐤉/𐤅 leapayv to his face HR/Ncmdc/Sp3ms אָֽרְצָ/ה 𐤀𐤓𐤑/𐤄 aretsah to the ground HNcbsa/Sd

and he took Joseph both of them both of them Ephraim Ephraim in his right hand toward Israel's left Israel and Manasseh Manasseh in his left hand toward Israel's right Israel and brought them near to him

13 וַ/יִּקַּ֣ח 𐤅/𐤉𐤒𐤇 vayiqach and he took HC/Vqw3ms יוֹסֵף֮ 𐤉𐤅𐤎𐤐 yosef Joseph HNp אֶת 𐤀𐤕 et both of them HTo שְׁנֵי/הֶם֒ 𐤔𐤍𐤉/𐤄𐤌 sheneyhem both of them HAcmdc/Sp3mp אֶת 𐤀𐤕 et-2 Ephraim HTo אֶפְרַ֤יִם 𐤀𐤐𐤓𐤉𐤌 eferayim Ephraim HNp בִּֽ/ימִינ/וֹ֙ 𐤁/𐤉𐤌𐤉𐤍/𐤅 bimino in his right hand HR/Ncfsc/Sp3ms מִ/שְּׂמֹ֣אל 𐤌/𐤔𐤌𐤀𐤋 misemol toward Israel's left HR/Ncmsc יִשְׂרָאֵ֔ל 𐤉𐤔𐤓𐤀𐤋 yiserael Israel HNp וְ/אֶת 𐤅/𐤀𐤕 veet and Manasseh HC/To מְנַשֶּׁ֥ה 𐤌𐤍𐤔𐤄 menasheh Manasseh HNp בִ/שְׂמֹאל֖/וֹ 𐤁/𐤔𐤌𐤀𐤋/𐤅 visemolo in his left hand HR/Ncmsc/Sp3ms מִ/ימִ֣ין 𐤌/𐤉𐤌𐤉𐤍 mimin toward Israel's right HR/Ncfsc יִשְׂרָאֵ֑ל 𐤉𐤔𐤓𐤀𐤋 yiserael-2 Israel HNp וַ/יַּגֵּ֖שׁ 𐤅/𐤉𐤂𐤔 vayagesh and brought them near HC/Vhw3ms אֵלָֽי/ו 𐤀𐤋𐤉/𐤅 elayv to him HR/Sp3ms

stretched out Israel (direct object marker) his right hand and laid on head Ephraim's and he was the younger and his left hand on head Manasseh's guided (direct object marker) his hands for Manasseh was the firstborn

14 וַ/יִּשְׁלַח֩ 𐤅/𐤉𐤔𐤋𐤇 vayishelach stretched out HC/Vqw3ms יִשְׂרָאֵ֨ל 𐤉𐤔𐤓𐤀𐤋 yiserael Israel HNp אֶת 𐤀𐤕 et (direct object marker) HTo יְמִינ֜/וֹ 𐤉𐤌𐤉𐤍/𐤅 yemino his right hand HNcfsc/Sp3ms וַ/יָּ֨שֶׁת 𐤅/𐤉𐤔𐤕 vayashet and laid HC/Vqw3ms עַל 𐤏𐤋 al on HR רֹ֤אשׁ 𐤓𐤀𐤔 rosh head HNcmsc אֶפְרַ֨יִם֙ 𐤀𐤐𐤓𐤉𐤌 eferayim Ephraim's HNp וְ/ה֣וּא 𐤅/𐤄𐤅𐤀 vehu and he HC/Pp3ms הַ/צָּעִ֔יר 𐤄/𐤑𐤏𐤉𐤓 hatsair was the younger HTd/Aamsa וְ/אֶת 𐤅/𐤀𐤕 veet and HC/To שְׂמֹאל֖/וֹ 𐤔𐤌𐤀𐤋/𐤅 semolo his left hand HNcmsc/Sp3ms עַל 𐤏𐤋 al-2 on HR רֹ֣אשׁ 𐤓𐤀𐤔 rosh-2 head HNcmsc מְנַשֶּׁ֑ה 𐤌𐤍𐤔𐤄 menasheh Manasseh's HNp שִׂכֵּל֙ 𐤔𐤊𐤋 sikel guided HVpp3ms אֶת 𐤀𐤕 et-2 (direct object marker) HTo יָדָ֔י/ו 𐤉𐤃𐤉/𐤅 yadayv his hands HNcbdc/Sp3ms כִּ֥י 𐤊𐤉 ki for HC מְנַשֶּׁ֖ה 𐤌𐤍𐤔𐤄 menasheh-2 Manasseh HNp הַ/בְּכֽוֹר 𐤄/𐤁𐤊𐤅𐤓 habekhor was the firstborn HTd/Ncmsa

And he blessed Joseph Joseph and said The God before whom walked my fathers before Him Abraham and Isaac the God who has been my shepherd me all my life to this day this
